Job Purpose

The Pilot is responsible for conducting assigned flights in strict accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The incumbent ensures the ultimate safety, security, and efficiency of all flight operations, provides leadership to flight and cabin crew, manages emergency and ad-hoc scenarios, and maintains a positive corporate image.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned aircraft according to established schedules and approved flight plans, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
  • Implement and monitor procedures to ensure safe and smooth aircraft operations in compliance with the Operations Manual.
  • Ensure personal and crew fitness, grooming, and legality; conduct thorough pre-flight briefings.
  • Liaise with flight/cabin crew and the Dispatch Team regarding technical status, weather, route preferences, fuel, and crew roles.
  • Optimize fuel efficiency within safety constraints.
  • Direct safety, security, and transit checks; manage safety or security irregularities and perform escalations when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance Engineers, MCC, and MROs to confirm aircraft technical status and manage defect rectification.
  • Maintain accurate flight documentation, including technical logbooks, journey books, and reports.
  • Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is understood and followed by the Flight Crew.
  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements from civil aviation authorities and aircraft manufacturers.
  • Perform additional ground-based roles, such as Safety or Security Officer, as directed.

Qualifications

  • Must hold an appropriate ATPL License.
  • Must successfully pass required technical, psychometric, and medical fitness assessments.
  • Proficiency in aircraft systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language (additional local languages are an advantage).
  • Preferred training/qualifications: Safety and emergency response, airport security procedures, Crew Resource Management, and IATA security principles.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 4,000 flying hours required; Airbus 320 experience preferred.
  • Experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.
  • Solid industry knowledge of aircraft systems, operating procedures, and safety/audit practices.
  • Proven capability to execute policies and procedures in a high-workload, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills with a focus on cost-effective solutions.
  • Professional composure with the ability to handle emergencies, threats, and ad-hoc scenarios effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to supporting organizational KPIs and business strategy.
