Airline Pilot

Job Purpose

The Airline Pilot is responsible for conducting flights in strict accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The Pilot ensures the highest standards of safety, security, and efficiency throughout all operations, while providing leadership to the flight and cabin crew. The role requires the effective management of emergencies, ad-hoc scenarios, and the maintenance of a positive corporate image through successful flight performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute flight schedules and approved flight plans, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
  • Ensure all flight operations comply with the Airline Operations Manual and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of personal grooming, fitness, and legal compliance; conduct thorough pre-flight briefings for all crew members.
  • Coordinate with First Officers, Second Officers, and the Dispatch Team regarding technical status, weather, route preferences, fuel, and load distribution.
  • Optimize fuel efficiency within established safety constraints.
  • Direct crew members in conducting required safety, security, and transit checks, and provide leadership during irregularities or emergencies.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers and MCC/MROs to monitor aircraft technical status and implement corrective measures for any identified defects.
  • Accurately maintain all mandatory documentation, including technical logs, journey books, and boarding reports.
  • Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is disseminated and adhered to by the flight crew.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements from civil aviation authorities and aircraft manufacturers.
  • Perform additional ground-based responsibilities, such as Safety or Security Officer duties, as directed.

Qualifications

  • Valid ATPL License (Mandatory).
  • Successful completion of technical/psychometric assessments per airline and civil aviation standards.
  • Successful completion of a medical fitness examination.
  • Proficiency in aircraft systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing and presentation capabilities.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Formal training in safety and emergency response, airport security procedures, Crew Resource Management, and IATA security principles are considered advantages.

Work Experience and Requirements

  • Minimum of 4,000 flight hours; experience on Airbus 320 aircraft is preferred.
  • Prior experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft systems, operating procedures, and industry regulations.
  • Exposure to QA, safety, security, and audit procedures within flight operations.
  • Proven ability to implement policies and manuals within a high-pressure, changing environment.
  • Demonstrated composure, focus, and problem-solving skills when managing emergencies or threats.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven, cost-effective decision-making.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to achieving business KPIs.
