First Officer (B747-400 / MD-11)

Western Global Airlines is seeking professional pilots for the position of First Officer on its B747-400 and MD-11 fleet types. As a leading high-tech air cargo platform servicing global e-commerce, logistics, and governmental organizations, the airline offers a home-based role with a 17-day tour of duty. The First Officer serves as Second-in-Command, ensuring all flight operations are conducted safely and in compliance with all regulations and Captain directives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute flight operations in strict accordance with Western Global Airlines’ approved manuals, Operations Specifications, 14 CFRs, FAA Orders, and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with all administrative programs, including airport and route qualifications, flight time limitations, and currency requirements such as physicals and takeoffs/landings.
  • Adhere to uniform discipline, manual policies, and procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure all pilot flight equipment and home study courses are maintained to required standards.

Technical Requirements

  • Current and valid FAA ATPL.
  • Valid FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • ICAO English Level IV proficiency.
  • Minimum of 2,500 hours of total flying experience.
  • Clean aviation record with no history of accidents or incidents.
  • Valid US passport allowing for unrestricted international travel (required for military contract compliance).
  • Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug test and a comprehensive 10-year background check.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous Part 121 airline or aviation experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation or a related field.
  • Existing type rating on B747-400 / Boeing or MD-11 / Airbus aircraft.
  • 1,000 hours of flight time under Part 121 operations.
  • Candidates may count up to 500 hours of military flight time as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of a multiengine, turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane toward the 1,000-hour requirement.
  • Prior experience as PIC in operations under § 135.243(a)(1) or § 91.1053(a)(2)(i).
