First Officer
The First Officer functions as Second in Command (SIC) and is directly responsible to the Captain during flight operations. He assists the Captain with all phases of flight, including pre-flight preparation, flight execution, and post-flight mission requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with all Federal Aviation Regulations, company regulations, and scheduling policies pertinent to his duties.
- Assists the Captain in the safe and efficient conduct of the flight, from initial flight planning through flight termination.
- Ensures proper and timely completion of all mission-related paperwork, including the control of receipts and other pertinent documentation.
- Demonstrates proficiency in all duties and exercises sound judgment commensurate with the responsibilities of a Captain.
- Complies with FAR 135.267 and shares joint responsibility for managing flight time, duty time limitations, and maintaining required qualifications relating to aircraft and flight physical requirements.
Skills, Competencies, Education, Certification, and/or Licensure Requirements:
- Possesses a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with appropriate aircraft type ratings.
- Holds a valid FAA Medical Certificate.
- Demonstrates recent flight experience.
- Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of relevant aviation regulations.
- Holds an unrestricted United States Passport.
- Possesses a valid FCC Radio License.
- Maintains a record free of FAA violations or enforcement actions.
Physical Demands:
- Able to sit for extended periods in the pilot's seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness properly fastened without any modifications.
- Meets the visual acuity requirements and medical standards established by the FAA.
- Capable of clearly hearing verbal communications in person, via telephone, and over a headset, amidst ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
- Demonstrates the ability to move freely about the aircraft and perform all required functions effectively and expeditiously within a confined environment.
- Proficient in using hands for fingering, handling, and feeling; reaching with hands and arms.
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Possesses specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Additional Requirements:
- This position is based in Cartersville, GA.
- Requires a minimum of 1500 hours total time (TT) and Commercial Multi-Engine Land Instrument (CMELI) ratings.
- Minimum of 250 multi-engine flight hours is required; Gulfstream III/IV experience preferred.
- Must possess a valid US passport, successfully pass a drug and background check, and be able to obtain security clearance.
- International experience is preferred; proficiency in a second language is considered valuable.
- Duty assignments involve multi-week worldwide international deployments.
