Metro First Officer

Sierra West Airlines is seeking qualified Second-in-Command (SIC) pilots to join the Metro flight crew team in El Paso, Texas. This role is a critical component of the company's cargo operations, requiring dependable and adaptable professionals who prioritize safety and operational excellence. Candidates will gain valuable experience in a fast-paced, on-demand environment with a strong emphasis on real-world flight operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Operate aircraft in strict accordance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and program procedures.
  • Maintain professional communication standards for complex internal and external aircraft transmissions.
  • Assist with the physical loading and unloading of freight.
  • Ensure the safety of flight crew members and provide exemplary customer service.
  • Identify and communicate aircraft deficiencies to ensure timely maintenance review and correction.
  • Execute flight operations during day, night, and various weather conditions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Flight Experience Requirements

  • Total Time: 800 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 250 hours
  • Multi-Engine (ME): 75 hours
  • Turbine: 40 hours

Professional Qualifications

  • Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument ratings.
  • Current Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC).
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • ICAO Level 4 English proficiency.
  • Current Passport (Passport cards are not accepted).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening and background checks.
  • Ability to obtain an airport SIDA badge.
  • Must possess an iPad for duty use.

Physical and Scheduling Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 125 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft.
  • Willingness to relocate to the El Paso, Texas base and travel extensively.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and frequent overnight call-outs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating under Part 135 regulations.
  • Prior experience in cargo operations.
  • Familiarity with company-specific aircraft.
