Summary
The selected candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of company aircraft, adhering to strict company regulations, Federal Aviation Regulations, and all applicable state and local regulations. This individual may be assigned as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM), and will be expected to embrace and demonstrate professional behavior aligned with Perdue's organizational values and policies. Effective communication and interaction with management, crew members, and local authorities regarding flight operations are paramount to success in this role.
The Perdue Hanger is located in Salisbury, MD. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of this location; however, relocation assistance is available for qualified individuals.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As a vital member of the Perdue Aviation team, the Aircraft Pilot will:
- Operate company aircraft as Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC), ensuring compliance with Code of Federal Regulations Title 14, state and local regulations, the aircraft flight manual, and company policies.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all flight-related information, including weather conditions, AIRMETS, SIGMETS, and other pertinent details prior to departure.
- Verify appropriate fuel and oxygen requirements for each flight route.
- Ensure the crew possesses all necessary dispatch papers, flight information, and aircraft documentation.
- Operate the aircraft within weight and balance parameters during all phases of flight.
- Diligently complete flight planning and filing of company flight plans.
- Conduct thorough post-flight inspections after each aircraft landing/engine shutdown, communicating any aircraft defects to the Chief Pilot or designated personnel.
- Adhere to flight time/duty time limitations as defined by company policies.
- Conduct passenger briefings in accordance with company requirements outlined in company policies.
- Ensure compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws as necessary for international flights.
- Fulfill all post-flight administrative duties, including meticulous recording of flight times, fuel usage, and aircraft stocking and cleaning.
- Maintain stringent aircraft security both at home base and while away.
- Deliver comprehensive crew briefings prior to departure, covering crucial aspects such as aircraft towing procedures during inclement weather, taxi routes, and recovery procedures.
- Lead post-flight debriefings and, while at home base, conduct post-flight aircraft maintenance status debriefs.
- Collaborate effectively with crew members, facilitating seat and duty swaps at the company captain's discretion when a contract pilot is involved.
- Assume the role of Trip Lead as assigned, serving as the primary point of contact for all trip-related matters, including schedule deviations, overnight stays, and progress updates on international flights.
- Conduct meticulous pre-flight inspections before each departure.
- Operate the aircraft in strict accordance with the FARs, Manufacturer AFM and POH, and Perdue Farms' SOPs, consistently demonstrating exemplary Crew Resource Management (CRM) skills in all phases of operation.
- Maintain responsibility for the execution of all checklists, including normal, abnormal, and emergency procedures.
- Engage in proactive communication with the PM regarding traffic, terrain, airspace separation, weather, and any other external factors that could potentially impact the flight.
Minimum Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid Airplane Multi Engine Land Commercial Pilot certificate.
- A valid instrument rating.
- A minimum of 1500 hours of flight time, including 400 hours Multi Engine and 200 hours Turbo Prop.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative crew environment.
- A valid First Class Medical Certificate.
- A valid passport for international travel.
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
- Residence within a 50-mile radius of Salisbury, MD.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
Experience Preferred
- ATP Certificate – Multi Engine
- King Air B200 experience
- Embraer Phenom 300 type rating
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
This role requires a moderate level of physical activity, including:
- Lifting and loading travel bags onto the aircraft.
- Maneuvering company aircraft using appropriate equipment.
- Moving equipment or supplies within the company hangar.
- Accessing files, supplies, and equipment.
- Performing work primarily within a hangar and onboard aircraft.
