First Officer - Pilatus PC-24 (Air Ambulance)

PHI Health seeks dedicated and skilled aviators to join its elite team in Houston, TX, serving as a First Officer aboard the Pilatus PC-24 aircraft for air ambulance operations. This role is at the forefront of life-saving missions, requiring precision, speed, and unwavering commitment to deliver critical care.

Position Overview:

The First Officer operates within a dual-pilot crew environment, conducting Airplane Air Ambulance (HAA) operations under CAMTS guidelines. This position involves 24-hour operations on a day/night rotation schedule. The successful candidate will perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM), support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns. The First Officer will also collaborate with both internal and external customers to ensure safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service. Some physical lifting is required to assist with loading and unloading patients and equipment. External search processes may run concurrently with internal postings. Successful applicants will participate in community outreach programs and adhere to all PHI Air Medical policies.

Location and Schedule:

This position is based in Houston, TX, operating on a 7 & 7 schedule. The pilot must reside within a one-hour commute from the base.

Compensation and Benefits:

PHI Health offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support its teams. This includes competitive pay, shift bonuses, shift incentives, an Annual Safety Bonus, an Annual Employee Bonus, and more. A relocation package may be available, subject to a two-year minimum service requirement if utilized. If aircraft transition is required, a one-year minimum service requirement applies. Note that housing will not be provided.

Special Incentives:

A customer bonus of $30,000 and a sign-on bonus of up to $50,000 may be available for eligible candidates. These offers are time-sensitive.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Current and qualified on the VE7A certificate.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate, Airplane, Multi-engine land.
  • Current First Class Medical certificate.
  • Meet CAMTS requirements for SIC (Second in Command), including ATP, 2,000 total airplane hours, 1,000 hours PIC multi-engine, 500 hours as PIC in multi-engine airplanes, and 100 night hours.
  • Strong communication, internal, and external customer service skills.
  • Successful interview and acceptance by customer and PHI management.
  • Ability to meet specific health requirements, including Tuberculosis screening, required vaccinations (Varivax, MMR, Tdap if applicable, Hepatitis B series and positive titer), and annual flu vaccination. This position requires the Covid Vaccination.
  • Must meet a body weight requirement of 235 lbs.
  • Ability to pass a pre-placement physical exam including a functional capacity exam (assessing strength and flexibility, ability to lift 100 pounds), drug screening, and background screen.
  • Preference may be given to Pilots currently assigned to the KC Children's Mercy Program.
