Job Summary:
PHI Air Medical is seeking a skilled Airplane Air Ambulance Pilot to serve as Second in Command (SIC) in a dual-pilot, IFR environment. The pilot will operate a King Air 200 aircraft under CAMTS guidelines for air ambulance missions. This role involves participation in 24-hour operations with day/night rotations, providing rapid medical response and delivering critical care with precision and unwavering commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
- Conduct safe and efficient air ambulance transport missions.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment, which includes some lifting.
- Support the company's Safety Management System (SMS), Destination Zero initiatives, and other safety campaigns.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
- Participate in community outreach programs and adhere to PHI Air Medical policies.
Schedule and Location:
- Schedule operates on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotation.
- The pilot must reside within a one-hour commute of the base in Kansas City, MO.
Compensation and Benefits:

Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:
- Current and qualified on the VE7A certificate.
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Airplane Multi-engine land certificate.
- Current First Class Medical Certificate.
- Meet CAMTS requirements, including:
- SIC qualifications.
- ATP certification.
- 2,000 Total Airplane Hours.
- 1,000 Hours Pilot in Command (PIC) multi-engine.
- 500 hours as PIC in multi-engine airplanes.
- 100 night hours.
- Must meet a body weight requirement of 235 lbs.
- Ability to pass a pre-placement physical exam, including a functional capacity exam (assessing strength and flexibility, ability to lift 100 pounds to assist with patient/equipment loading).
- Ability to pass a drug screening and background screen.
- Required vaccinations/tests include: Tuberculosis screening; two Varivax vaccinations or positive varicella titer; two MMR vaccinations or positive titers for rubella, rubeola, and mumps; tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis vaccine (if greater than two years since last booster); Hepatitis B vaccination series history and a positive hepatitis B surface antibody titer (for staff with risk of exposure to blood/infectious material); and annual flu vaccination (within the last twelve months).
- Covid Vaccination is required for this position.
- Must be interviewed and accepted by both customer and PHI management.
