Aviation Pilot
An Aviation Pilot is needed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft, encompassing flight planning, execution, passenger interaction, and communication with relevant company personnel. The pilot provides crucial support to the Aviation Manager and other staff for aircraft scheduling, meticulous record keeping, and proactive maintenance planning and implementation. The position is responsible for safeguarding company information and assets, ensuring their accessibility and availability to effectively support business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Operates the company airplane safely, adhering strictly to approved operating procedures and current FAA regulations. As Pilot-in-Command, maintains continuous in-flight control of the aircraft.
- Monitors aircraft condition and performance, reviews operational limitations and concerns, assesses fuel requirements, evaluates alternate airports, and determines operational implications of malfunctions, modifying flight operations as necessary.
- Conducts comprehensive flight planning, meticulously evaluates and monitors weather conditions, ensures continuous aircraft readiness, and oversees routine aircraft servicing.
- Maintains and verifies accurate aircraft and pilot flight records utilizing PFM software. Provides assistance to department personnel with report generation and scheduling tasks as required.
- Maintains consistent communication with the Chief Pilot and Travel Desk to relay schedule changes and address passengers’ needs. Processes/edits all requests as needed, ensuring accurate data entry within the PFM system.
- Maintains aircraft navigational databases, charts, and pertinent aircraft and FAA publications. Maintains thorough familiarity with the Company Aircraft Policy and Procedures manual.
- Coordinates effectively with fixed-base operators to guarantee the delivery of proper services, such as fueling and de-icing, during stopovers and hanger stays, according to requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all FAA regulations relevant to Authority aircraft operations, along with a thorough understanding of Flight Department policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and fellow flight crew members.
- Exhibits problem-solving capabilities, utilizing experience and training to facilitate travel for company personnel under evolving conditions. As Pilot-in-Command, provides clear, concise instructions and guidance to passengers and crew members during both normal and emergency operational scenarios.
- Demonstrates the ability to make critical in-flight control decisions, essential for ensuring safety. These decisions are informed by careful evaluation of conditions and options, as well as input from copilots. Operates under the administrative direction of the Chief Pilot, seeking guidance from department leadership when necessary.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Required:
- Possession of a valid FAA Airline Transport Pilot license with instrument and multi-engine ratings.
- A minimum of 3500 total flight hours.
- High school diploma.
Preferred:
- A minimum of 1500 hours in multi-engine aircraft as pilot-in-command.
- King Air BE-300 type certification.
- Current King Air 350/360 simulator-based training course.
- A minimum of two years of college education or equivalent technical experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess a valid FAA 2nd Class medical certificate.
- Must be available for occasional operations outside of normal business hours, including potential 12 to 14-hour duty days, nights, and weekends.
- Must be able to work in meteorological conditions including thunderstorms, high winds, ice and snow, extended outdoor work in inclement conditions and work in a high noise, dynamic airport environment.
