Aviation Pilot
An aviation pilot is sought to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft. The pilot will be responsible for flight planning, aircraft operations, passenger interaction, and communication with company personnel. The role also involves providing support to the Aviation Manager and staff in areas such as aircraft scheduling, record keeping, and maintenance planning and implementation. This individual will play a crucial role in protecting company information and assets, ensuring they are accessible and available to support business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the company airplane safely and in accordance with approved procedures and FAA regulations. As Pilot-in-Command, maintain in-flight control of the aircraft, monitoring its condition and performance. Review limitations and operational concerns, monitor fuel requirements, and evaluate alternate airports. Determine operational implications of malfunctions, altering flight operations as necessary.
- Conduct flight planning, evaluate and monitor weather conditions, maintain aircraft readiness, and oversee routine aircraft servicing.
- Maintain and verify aircraft and pilot flight records using PFM software. Assist department personnel with reports and scheduling as required.
- Maintain contact with the Chief Pilot and Travel Desk to update schedule changes and passengers’ needs. Process/edit requests, ensuring accurate data entry in the PFM system.
- Maintain aircraft navigational databases, charts, and relevant publications. Remain familiar with the Company Aircraft Policy and Procedures manual.
- Coordinate with fixed-base operators to ensure proper services (fueling, de-icing, etc.) are performed during stopovers and hanger stays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of FAA regulations pertinent to Authority aircraft operations and Flight Department policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with passengers and flight crew.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, utilizing experience and training to facilitate travel under changing conditions. Ability to provide clear, concise instructions and guidance to passengers and crew during normal and emergency operations.
- Ability to make critical in-flight control decisions, based on the evaluation of conditions and options, while operating under the general administrative direction of the Chief Pilot and receiving guidance from department leadership.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot license with instrument and multi-engine ratings is required.
- Minimum of 3500 total flight hours is required.
- High school diploma is required.
- Minimum of 1500 hours in multi-engine aircraft as pilot-in-command is preferred.
- King Air BE-300 type certification is preferred.
- Current King Air 350/360 simulator-based training course is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of college or equivalent technical experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- FAA 2nd Class medical certificate is required.
- Availability for occasional operations outside of normal business hours (12 to 14-hour duty day), including nights and weekends, is required.
- The role may involve exposure to meteorological conditions such as thunderstorms, high winds, ice, and snow, as well as extended outdoor work in inclement conditions and work in a high-noise, dynamic airport environment.
