Challenger 300 Captain - Chicago, IL
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain to join their team operating a Challenger 300 aircraft based in Chicago, IL (MDW).
About the Opportunity:
This position offers the opportunity to join a two-pilot account, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician. The selected candidate will enjoy a balance of professional and personal life with an average flight time of 200 hours annually, primarily domestic with occasional international travel. This is a non-commutable position, requiring residency within driving distance of MDW airport.
Responsibilities:
As Pilot in Command (PIC), you will hold the ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. This encompasses adhering to all company and regulatory requirements while ensuring an exceptional service experience for passengers.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring Safe Flight Operations:
- Ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements for crewing and trip assignments.
- Executing meticulous flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight.
- Leading pre-flight briefings using the Threats, Plans and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks.
- Adhering to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collaborating effectively with company personnel.
- Acting as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator in accordance with company policy.
- Performing comprehensive pre-flight checks, verifying aircraft maintenance status, and meticulously documenting any discrepancies.
- Monitoring and ensuring the completion of all aircraft ground servicing (fueling, oil, oxygen, etc.) according to SOPs.
- Delivering thorough passenger safety briefings and providing the highest level of customer service, catering to any specific passenger needs.
- Demonstrating strong Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) skills to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during all phases of flight.
- Delivering an Exceptional Service Experience:
- Providing exceptional service to owners and passengers, actively seeking opportunities to enhance the EJM experience.
- Collaborating effectively with fellow crew members and EJM internal partners to ensure a consistent and positive service experience.
- Proactively addressing and resolving service deviations and handling challenging situations with professionalism and diplomacy.
- Maintaining Proficiency and Compliance:
- Remaining current on all regulatory and company-mandated training and maintaining the required recency of experience.
- Actively participating in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns through appropriate channels.
Qualifications:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
- First Class Medical Certificate
- 4-6 years of experience in corporate/business aviation preferred
- FAA Type rating in the applicable fleet
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
