The Meijer Aviation Department currently operates 3 aircraft, with a primary mission to support the stores and team members throughout the Meijer market footprint.

The Meijer Aviation Department is looking to fill a position that will be opening in their pilot team. With an over 40 year history of operating their own Aviation department, Meijer understands the value corporate aviation brings to a company. The Captain will act as PIC or SIC and is responsible for the safety of passengers and crew and the comfortable, timely operation of the aircraft. Ensures that all flight and ground operations comply with pertinent FAA regulations, the company Flight Operations Manual and applicable corporate policies. The captain is responsible for all flight planning details and handling passenger needs. Collaborates with other crew members to makes decisions regarding possible delays, rerouting or flight cancellations.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Act as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command in Citation 560XLS+ and Citation 680 Latitude
  • Ensure that all operations comply with both FAA regulations and company procedures
  • Conduct the flight in a safe, professional manner
  • Plan flight, perform weather evaluation and make operational adjustments as required
  • Complete all FAA and company mandated training in a timely manner
  • Evaluate and procure necessary aircraft fuel for each trip in the most cost-effective way possible
  • Provide superior customer service, ensuring passengers and inquiring individuals are appropriately accommodated
  • Perform non-flying duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot

This role requires daily travel including weekend and overnight trips. The flight schedule is posted weekly, however changes often occur, therefore the Captain position requires scheduling flexibility.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • FAA ATP Certificate
  • FAA First Class Medical Certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
  • 4,000 hours total flight time, 1,000 hours turbine multi-engine
  • Experience working in a crew environment
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language fluently
  • Hold a valid US Passport
  • Citation 560 and 680 type preferred but not required
  • Hold a high level of discipline and integrity
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
