Flight Program Lead Pilot - DEA Aviation Operations
Leidos is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Flight Program Lead Pilot to oversee the aviation program for DEA operations. This critical role demands a steadfast commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence. The Flight Program Lead Pilot will report to [Insert Reporting Manager Title or Department] and be responsible for leading a team of dedicated aviation professionals in a dynamic and mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Flight Operations: Oversee all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of diverse missions. This includes personally piloting DEA aircraft as Pilot-in-Command (PIC), encompassing single-engine, multi-engine, and rotorcraft operations, while adhering meticulously to DEA policies, FAA regulations, and standard operating procedures.
- Champion Training & Instruction: Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for DEA pilots, encompassing initial qualification and recurrent training. Provide direct flight instruction, evaluate pilot performance, and offer constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement and maintain the highest standards of proficiency.
- Ensure Safety & Compliance: Function as a staunch advocate for safety by ensuring unwavering compliance with all FAA regulations and DEA policies. Maintain comprehensive records of flight activities, training records, and certifications. Proactively conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Provide Supervisory Leadership: Provide strong leadership and mentorship to a team of pilots and flight personnel. Ensure adherence to operational requirements and schedules. Conduct performance evaluations, champion professional development initiatives, and cultivate a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork within the flight operations team.
- Manage the Flight Program: Spearhead the development and implementation of policies and procedures governing the flight program. Collaborate effectively with other DEA departments and external agencies to ensure seamless mission support. Manage the flight program budget effectively, ensuring the cost-effective utilization of resources.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree coupled with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License.
- Current FAA ratings:
- Single Engine Land (SEL) and Multi-Engine Land (MEL), and/or Rotorcraft Helicopter
- Instrument Airplane and/or Instrument Helicopter
- US FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) in:
- ASEL, and/or AMEL, and/or Helicopter
- Airplane Instrument and/or Helicopter Instrument
- Minimum of 3,000 hours of total logged pilot time, with preferred experience in:
- 1,500 hours as an instructor
- 1,000 hours multi-engine pilot-in-command (PIC)
- 500 hours turbine engine PIC
- 200 hours night flying
- 1,000 hours cross country
- 250 hours instrument
- 500 hours instrument instruction
- 500 hours helicopter instruction
- 100 hours instrument helicopter instruction
- 200 hours Night Vision Goggle
- Current FAA First-Class Medical Certification.
- Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
- No prior aviation accident record.
- No previous suspensions or revocations of aviation designations or ratings.
- Full-time on-site presence at the main Alliance Facility.

Compensation:
$122,200.00 - $220,900.00 per year. Final salary is determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, knowledge, skills, and market considerations.
