Leidos, under the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV), is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Instructor. This remote position supports the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Eastern Service Area (ESA) by providing critical technical instruction in electronics and fiber optics for new hire personnel, with required travel to Lakeland, FL, or other designated teaching locations as needed.
About the Role

Lead classroom and laboratory instruction for new hire Electronics personnel, focusing on FAA electrical and electronics systems and fiber optics projects.

Deliver comprehensive training to students through engaging lectures, practical demonstrations, and hands-on laboratory exercises.

Assist students in developing fundamental skills essential for entry-level fiber optic cable installer or technician roles.

Instruct on core principles of fiber optic technology, including various fiber types, splicing techniques, network design, safety protocols, and the proficient use of specialized tools for connecting and activating fiber optic networks.

Teach fundamental electronic and fiber optic safety, covering essential topics such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), proper cable handling, safe use of chemicals, cleaners, and adhesives, adherence to industry standards, and effective practices to prevent injury and damage.

Conduct courses in-person, with instruction scheduled during day hours and potentially evening sessions.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree.

Minimum of 12 years of working knowledge and experience with FAA electrical and electronics systems.

Proficiency in computer applications including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Familiarity with Engineering Scheduling tools and applications.

Ability to effectively use the Internet as a tool for information gathering and communication.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of producing clear and concise general and technical writing.

Demonstrated ability to tactfully coordinate with diverse project stakeholders, peers, and management levels.
