Boeing 737 First Officer
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of flights. In situations where the Captain becomes incapacitated, the First Officer will assume command.
Responsibilities:
- Execute flight duties in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, taking into account procedures, limitations, and performance characteristics specific to the Boeing 737 aircraft type, as assigned by the Captain.
- Maintain constant and independent monitoring of the aircraft's geographical position and terrain clearance to ensure safe navigation.
- When not at the controls, conduct the flight safely and professionally, adhering to the current flight plan and the Captain's instructions.
- Proactively offer advice, information, and assistance to the Captain to contribute to a safe and efficient flight.
- Actively seek and obtain information and clarification from the Captain as needed to effectively perform duties.
- Immediately report any safety concerns, irregularities, incidents, or accidents to the Director of Safety if not already reported by other crew members.
- Regularly review and update onboard manuals to ensure their currency and availability.
Requirements:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Aviation-related college degree preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
- Valid and unrestricted passport.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- FAA Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating.
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate.
- FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
Experience:
- R-ATP holders require 1,000 hours of total flight time.
- Non-R-ATP holders require 2,500 hours of total flight time, including 500 hours of turbine time.
- Prior FAR Part 121 experience preferred.
- Boeing 737 type rating preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in basic MS Office applications, computer software, and internet use.
- Successful completion of DOT/FAA pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to regularly stand, sit, talk, hear, and utilize hands and fingers for operating a computer and telephone keyboard.
Location & Schedule:
- This position operates out of Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, MI.
- This is not a remote position; on-site presence is required.
- No relocation assistance will be provided.
- This position operates on a 13 days on, 10 days off rotating schedule, bid in 90-day increments.
- Candidates must be available to work weekends, holidays, and assigned shifts, including nights.
Other Requirements:
- Must meet FAR Part 121 age requirements.
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
