Second in Command (SIC) Pilot - Midsize Jet

Cessna Citation XLS/XLS+ | Full-Time, Denver, CO Base

Position Overview

Jet Linx seeks a highly qualified and dedicated Second in Command (SIC) Pilot to support dynamic Part 91 and Part 135 flight operations aboard the Cessna Citation XLS/XLS+ midsize jet platform. This critical full-time position is based in Denver, Colorado. The successful candidate must possess an unwavering commitment to safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance.

The applicant is required to establish permanent residency or be willing to relocate to the Denver area. The incumbent must maintain the ability to respond to call-outs within two hours of their designated home base.

Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Base Chief Pilot, the Second in Command (SIC) is instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. The incumbent ensures that all assigned company aircraft operations strictly adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and established company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The SIC performs core operational duties centered on precision, safety, and regulatory compliance:

  • Accurately manage duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with company policy and Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs).
  • Maintain clear, prompt communication with company dispatch regarding standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position reports, and required pre- and post-flight reports.
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and associated flight applications.
  • Ensure that all navigation charts, publications, and company operational manuals are current and readily accessible.
  • Maintain a current and valid 1st Class medical certificate at all times.
  • Consistently convey strong, proactive decision-making skills during all phases of flight and ground operations.
  • Demonstrate and exemplify Jet Linx’s core organizational values in all professional interactions.

Minimum Pilot Qualifications

Prospective candidates must meet the following minimum flight experience requirements:

  • Total Time: 1,500 hours
  • Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
  • Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
  • Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
  • Total Instrument Time: 150 hours

Required Certifications and Requirements

The successful applicant must meet or be able to acquire the following professional requirements:

  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate or the ability to obtain the ATP certificate.
  • Valid 1st Class Medical Certificate.
  • Valid FCC Restricted Radio License.
  • Current passport with unrestricted ability to travel to international destinations, including Canada and Caribbean countries.
  • The capacity to pass a pre-employment drug screening and submit to random drug and alcohol testing when required.
  • Ability to release records and pass an FAA Pilot Record Database (PRD) review administered by a System Chief Pilot.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Ability to obtain a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Initial or Recurrent 142 training qualification in type (Citation XLS/XLS+) within the preceding 24 months is highly preferred.

Physical and Operational Demands

  • The ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is essential.
  • The majority of work is completed in and around aircraft and aircraft terminal environments.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

Compensation and Benefits

Jet Linx provides a highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package to its team members. The starting base annual salary for this specialized role ranges from $89,000 to $125,000. Actual base salary provided is determined based upon geographic location, aircraft size (crew positions), relevant education, professional training, and documented experience of the selected candidate.
