Second in Command – Lear 60XR
Full Time – Miami, FL
Jet Linx is actively seeking qualified Second in Command candidates for a Midsize jet aircraft, specifically the Lear 60XR, to support Part 91 and 135 flight operations. This full-time position is based in Miami, FL. The ideal candidate resides or is willing to relocate within a two-hour call-out radius of the designated home base. The Second in Command reports directly to the Base Chief Pilot and plays a crucial role in preparing and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of company aircraft in strict accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations and company procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Total Flight Time: 1500 hours
- Total Pilot in Command (PIC) Time: 500 hours
- Total Multi-Engine Time: 500 hours
- Total Turbine Time: 100 hours
- Total Instrument Time: 150 hours
Essential Functions:
The Second in Command is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Managing duty, flight, and rest times in compliance with both company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (CFRs).
- Maintaining consistent communication with the company for standby duty assignments, trip notifications, position calls, and the submission of pre- and post-flight reports.
- Effectively maintaining and managing Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware and associated applications.
- Ensuring navigation charts, aviation publications, and company manuals are current and readily available.
- Holding and maintaining a current 1st Class medical certificate.
- Demonstrating strong, proactive decision-making capabilities during all phases of flight operations.
- Embodying Jet Linx’s core values in all professional interactions.
Other Requirements:
- Initial or Recurrent 142 training specific to type completed within the last 24 months is preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Possession of a current passport with unrestricted international travel capability is required, including the ability to travel to Canada and Caribbean countries.
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate or the ability to obtain one is required.
- Must hold a current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
- Possession of an FCC Restricted Radio License is required.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and willingness to submit to random drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Ability to authorize the release of and successfully pass an FAA Pilot Record Database review conducted by a System Chief Pilot.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as operational demands require.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required.
- The majority of work is conducted in and around aircraft and aviation terminals.
- Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Compensation and Benefits:
Jet Linx offers a competitive compensation and benefits package to its valued team members. The starting base annual salary for this Second in Command position ranges from $100,000 to $149,999.98. The actual base salary offered is determined based on factors including geographic location, aircraft size/crew position, and the candidate's relevant education, training, and experience.
