Airline Pilot Job Description

The ideal candidate must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating. He or she must obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical certificate. A minimum of 4000 hours of total fixed-wing flight time is required, including 1500 hours in multi-engine land aircraft, 2000 hours as Pilot-in-Command, 1500 hours in turbojet aircraft, and 1500 hours of turbine time. The applicant should also have a minimum of 100 hours of night flying experience and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument time.

A minimum of five years of aviation experience is necessary. The individual must be able to work flexible schedules and be willing to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Desired Characteristics:

A college degree is preferred. Strong oral and written communication abilities are highly valued. Project management experience is also desirable. The ideal candidate possesses a team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. He or she should demonstrate the ability to be proactive and efficient, seeking out answers and resources as needed. The individual should be capable of handling job responsibilities with integrity, discretion, and sensitivity to confidential company and employee information. A pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner is expected to deliver the best experience to customers and colleagues.
