Position Summary
A Captain is sought to join the Flight Services team, based in Milwaukee, WI. The Pilot in Command reports to the Lead Captain and is responsible for adhering to company operating policies and procedures. This role emphasizes the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flight assignments. The Captain exercises Pilot in Command authority for all flights and serves as the final authority for the safe conduct of the flight. This position is based onsite with a flexible work arrangement.
Main Responsibilities
The Captain's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operating the aircraft, determining departure times and routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellations based on prevailing conditions, such as weather.
- Ensuring all flights are conducted in complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Implementing necessary changes as required by en route conditions to ensure flights continue under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conducting flights in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with industry and company standards.
- Accurately completing all required trip paperwork following current procedures.
- Ensuring thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of the flight.
- Recording all aircraft discrepancies as they occur on the aircraft discrepancy log and reporting them immediately to the Director of Maintenance or designee. Determining deferral or repair needs based on the approved MEL and instructions, and completing the discrepancy log accordingly.
- Verifying that the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintaining a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtaining the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS from authorized agencies.
- Filing or ensuring the filing of a flight plan with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Performing the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under applicable security programs.
- Conducting required passenger safety briefings or assigning the duty to the Second in Command.
- Imparting knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming Pilot in Command duties in an emergency or during their upgrade process.
- Completing and submitting the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Completing and submitting the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Taking an active role in supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Making an immediate report of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Understanding that duties may be delegated, but the responsibility for those duties remains with the Captain.
- Performing other duties as required.
- Representing Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Must obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Minimum 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- Minimum 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- Minimum 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- Minimum 1500 Turbine flight time.
- Minimum 100 hours Night flight time.
- Minimum 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- Minimum 5 years of aviation experience.
- Must be able to work flexible schedules.
- Must be willing and able to travel worldwide extensively without restrictions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands
The role requires the employee to successfully perform essential functions, including using hands and fingers for handling, feeling, or reaching, and frequently standing, walking, or sitting. Occasional climbing or balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment
The work environment encompasses both heavy maintenance areas and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate but can be high during aircraft arrival/departure. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasionally to fuel fumes. The ability to work in all types of weather conditions is required. Hangar environments may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures seasonally, and noise levels are usually loud.
