Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking a dedicated Lead Captain to operate the Gulfstream 550. This role serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of flight assignments. The Lead Captain acts as a mentor and brand ambassador, fostering a culture of safety, excellence, and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership:
Maintain full command of flight operations, including pre-flight and post-flight inspections, flight planning, and meteorological analysis.

Crew Management:
Mentor and develop crew members, coordinate schedules, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure operational excellence.

Safety & Compliance:
Promote a proactive safety culture, manage passenger briefings, and collaborate with maintenance teams to address aircraft technical requirements.

Administrative Oversight:
Manage comprehensive trip documentation, maintain regulatory aircraft manuals, and assist in talent acquisition.

Brand Representation:
Act as a primary representative of Jet Aviation, delivering exceptional service and maintaining professional standards at all times.
Qualifications

Certifications:
Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and FAA First Class Medical.

Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of aviation experience.

Flight Hours:

3,500 hours total fixed-wing time

1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC)

100 hours night flight

75 hours simulated instrument

Education:
High school diploma required (College degree preferred).

Licensing:
Valid driver’s license.

Flexibility:
Ability to work a variable schedule and travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.

Preferred Skills:
Relevant aircraft type rating, current certifications, strong interpersonal communication, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
Candidates must be capable of performing tasks requiring standing, walking, sitting, climbing, kneeling, and crouching. The role requires the ability to frequently lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds, including overhead items. The work environment varies from maintenance hangars to private aviation terminals, involving exposure to high noise levels, vibrations, fuel fumes, and varying weather conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary range for this position is $300,000 to $310,000. Final compensation is determined based on candidate experience, location, and relevant qualifications.
