Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly experienced Lead Captain to command Gulfstream 550 aircraft operations. This critical role carries the ultimate responsibility for the safe, efficient, and professional execution of all flight assignments. The Lead Captain serves as the Pilot in Command (PIC), ensuring the highest standards of safety, security, and quality are maintained. Beyond flight operations, this position involves leadership, mentorship of crew members, fostering a culture of excellence, and representing Jet Aviation’s distinguished brand. What We're Looking For
Aviation professionals are sought to lead and excel in a demanding and dynamic setting. Key qualifications include:
- Expert Credentials: Airline Transport Pilot Certificate and a valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years in aviation, with 3,500 total fixed-wing flight hours. This includes 1,500 hours as Pilot in Command, 1,500 hours multi-engine, 500 hours turbojet, 500 hours turbine, 100 hours night, and 75 hours of simulated instrument time.
- Flexibility: Availability to work a variable schedule to accommodate flight mission profiles.
- Global Readiness: Willingness to travel extensively worldwide without restrictions.
- Education: High school diploma is required.
- Licenses: A valid driver’s license.

What You'll Do
- Lead with Confidence: Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all assigned flights, including conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections, filing flight plans, and analyzing weather and route conditions to make informed decisions.
- Crew Leadership & Development: Mentor and guide crew members to foster professional growth, conduct performance reviews, and coordinate schedules and training to maintain seamless operations.
- Champion Safety & Compliance: Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to best practices, conducting passenger briefings, and promptly addressing aircraft discrepancies in collaboration with maintenance teams.
- Provide Administrative Excellence: Manage trip documentation, maintain aircraft manuals, assist in crew hiring, and represent Jet Aviation with professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
- Represent the Brand: Serve as a key representative of Jet Aviation, showcasing professionalism and dedication to the mission of delivering exceptional service.
What You'll Experience
- Physical Requirements: The role involves regular standing, walking, and sitting, with occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching. It requires frequent lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds, including overhead lifting, and maintaining sharp vision across various ranges and depths.
- Work Environment: Candidates will operate in a variety of environments, from heavy maintenance areas to upscale customer spaces. This includes experiencing the dynamic atmosphere of aircraft operations, with occasional exposure to high noise levels, vibrations, and fuel fumes. Adaptability to changing weather conditions and seasonal temperature extremes in hangar settings is necessary.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is $300,000 to $310,000. This range is an estimate and not a guaranteed offer. The final salary will be determined based on factors including candidate experience, geographic location, and other relevant considerations.
