Position Summary
Jet Aviation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Captain for the Gulfstream 650. The Pilot in Command assumes a critical leadership role, reporting directly to the Lead Captain regarding company operating policies and procedures. This position holds ultimate responsibility for the safe, secure, and efficient conduct of all assigned flight operations, with an unwavering emphasis on safety, security, and quality standards. The Captain will exercise full Pilot in Command authority for every flight to which they are assigned, maintaining final authority for the safe execution of each journey.
Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must meet the following stringent qualifications:
- Possession of an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with the appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- A minimum of 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing flight time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land flight time.
- A minimum of 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command flight time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours Turbojet flight time.
- A minimum of 1500 hours Turbine time.
- A minimum of 100 hours Night flight time.
- A minimum of 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- At least 5 years of professional aviation experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexible schedules, adapting to operational demands.
- Willingness and capability to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Main Responsibilities
The Captain’s primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Safely operating the aircraft, determining optimal departure times and routes, and initiating flight cancellations as necessary due to weather or other critical conditions.
- Ensuring complete compliance with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures for every flight.
- Instituting all necessary changes required by en route conditions to ensure the flight continues under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conducting all flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to both industry and company standards.
- Accurately completing all trip paperwork in accordance with current operational procedures.
- Ensuring a thorough and complete understanding with the Second in Command regarding all aspects of flight operations.
- Recording all aircraft discrepancies as they occur in the aircraft discrepancy log and promptly reporting them to the Director of Maintenance (DOM) or their designee. The Captain will refer to the approved Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and, as directed by the DOM, determine if an inoperative item can be deferred or requires immediate repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log accordingly.
- Determining that all flight crew members report for duty in proper attire and are mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of all aircraft systems authorized for operation, including all emergency systems and associated procedures.
- Securing the aircraft after each flight, including arranging hangar storage if deemed necessary or instructed by company management.
- Obtaining the most current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMs from an FAA flight service station or other authorized agency.
- Filing or ensuring a flight plan is filed with the FAA or an ICAO state Air Traffic Control (ATC) facility.
- Analyzing area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and designated alternates.
- Performing the functions of the In-flight Security Coordinator (ISC) under the provisions of the twelve-five standard security program or private charter standard security program, as applicable.
- Conducting the required passenger safety briefings or assigning that duty to the Second in Command.
- Imparting knowledge and skills to the Second in Command to prepare them for assuming the duties of Pilot in Command in an emergency or for future upgrade to Pilot in Command in that aircraft.
- Completing and sending the leg manifest to operations control prior to each departure.
- Completing and sending the End of Day (EOD) report to operations control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively supporting the open sharing of information on all safety issues and reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
- Immediately reporting any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the Chief Pilot and Director of Safety.
- Delegating duties as required, while retaining full responsibility for their successful execution.
- Performing other duties as required to support operational excellence.
- Representing Jet Aviation as one cohesive entity, both internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies, and the General Dynamics network.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to work comfortably in both a heavy maintenance environment and upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures, generally considered loud. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employees must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The hangar environment may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures during certain seasons of the year.
