Jet Aviation Captain - Global Express XRS (Burbank, CA)
Jet Aviation, a global leader in aviation services since 1967, is seeking a qualified and experienced Captain to join its Flight Services team. The Captain will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a Global Express XRS aircraft, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of safety, security, and quality. Responsibilities:
- Serve as pilot in command, reporting to the lead captain regarding company operating policies and procedures.
- Exercise pilot in command authority of all assigned flights, maintaining final authority for the safe conduct of the flight.
- Operate the aircraft safely, determining departure times and routes, and making decisions regarding flight cancellations based on weather or other conditions.
- Ensure flight operations comply with all federal, local, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Institute necessary changes due to en route conditions, ensuring the continuation of flights under appropriate company policies, procedures, and rules.
- Conduct flights in a safe and prudent manner, adhering to industry and company standards.
- Accurately complete all trip paperwork according to current procedures.
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all flight aspects with the second in command.
- Record all aircraft discrepancies in the aircraft discrepancy log and immediately report them to the director of maintenance or designee.
- Determine if inoperative items can be deferred or need repair, completing the aircraft discrepancy log as required.
- Ensure the flight crew reports for duty in proper attire and is mentally and physically fit for duty.
- Maintain complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems, including emergency systems and procedures.
- Secure the aircraft after each flight, arranging hangar storage as necessary.
- Obtain current weather reports, forecasts, and NOTAMS.
- File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility.
- Analyze area, enroute, and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates.
- Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator (ISC) as applicable.
- Conduct required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in command.
- Impart knowledge and skills to the second in command to prepare them for Pilot in Command duties.
- Complete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departure.
- Complete and send the End of DAY (EOD) report to ops control upon completion of each flight day.
- Actively support the open sharing of information on all safety issues and report all safety hazards and concerns.
- Make immediate reports of any hazardous action, conduct, or event to the chief pilot and director of safety.
- Represent Jet Aviation internally and externally.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating.
- Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- 4000 hours Total Fixed Wing time.
- 1500 hours Multi-Engine Land time.
- 2000 hours Pilot-in-Command time.
- 1500 hours Turbojet time.
- 1500 Turbine time.
- 100 hours Night time.
- 75 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument time.
- 5 years of aviation experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
- Willingness and ability to travel worldwide extensively, without restrictions.
- Valid driver’s license.

Physical Demands:
The role involves physical demands representative of typical flight operations. The employee is required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or reach; stand, walk, or sit; and occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds above their heads. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Work Environment:
The work environment includes both heavy maintenance and upscale customer areas. The noise level is typically moderate, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals/departures. The employee may be exposed to vibration and occasional fuel fumes. Willingness and ability to work in all types of weather conditions is required. The hangar environment may experience extreme hot and cold temperatures during certain seasons.
