Isles of Scilly Skybus is actively recruiting dedicated and experienced aviation professionals to join its esteemed flight operations team. This role offers the unique opportunity to fly within a challenging yet rewarding island environment, operating critical connectivity services.
Mandatory Minimum Requirements
Prospective candidates must strictly adhere to the following essential criteria to be considered for this vital role within the regional airline structure:
- Flight Time Requirements: A minimum total flight experience of 1,500 hours is required.
- Multi-Engine Experience: Candidates must possess a minimum of 500 hours of multi-engine flight time.
- License and Qualifications: Applicants must hold a current UK CAA Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) endorsed with Instrument Rating (IR), Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC), Multi-Engine (ME) rating, and UPRT (Upset Prevention and Recovery Training) certification.
- Medical Certification: A valid and current UK CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate is mandatory.
- English Language Proficiency: A minimum ICAO English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4 is required.
- Right to Work: Candidates must already possess the unrestricted legal right to live and work in the United Kingdom. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.
- Security Requirements: Applicants must be able to supply comprehensive, verified references covering the last five years to facilitate the issuance of an airside security pass.
- Type Rating: Type rating on the specific aircraft is not a prerequisite, as comprehensive type rating training will be provided by the company.
The Ideal Candidate Profile and Preferred Experience
While the minimum requirements are non-negotiable, the company highly values candidates who possess the following preferred flight and operational experience:
- Previous or current type rating on the DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft.
- Significant flight experience gained operating turbo prop aircraft.
- Flight experience in light multi-engine aircraft, including, but not limited to, the King Air, Shorts Skyvan, Islander, or Trislander.
- Prior flight experience in tail wheel aircraft, gliding, or similar flight disciplines.
- Operational experience gained within regional airlines, small island community operators, freight operations, medivac services, or similar challenging environments.
