Job Description
Humana seeks a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Aviation Pilot to provide safe, efficient, and comfortable air transportation for company executives. The ideal candidate possesses a strong aviation background, exceptional communication skills, and a dedication to superior service. The Pilot in Command (PIC) will operate company aircraft as PIC or second-in-command, handling moderately to highly complex situations requiring in-depth analysis. The PIC reports directly to the Chief Pilot and is accountable for the safe execution of all assigned flights.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the safety and security of the aircraft, crew, passengers, and cargo.
- Ensure flight operations are not undertaken if any crew member is incapacitated due to injury, illness, fatigue, or substance impairment.
- Immediately divert to the nearest suitable airport if crew capacity is significantly reduced by fatigue, illness, or hypoxia.
- Conduct thorough pre-flight checks, including weather analysis, NOTAM review, and fuel/oil/oxygen calculations.
- Determine aircraft weight and balance and perform runway analysis for all airports.
- Ensure all flight planning requirements are met and that crew members possess valid licenses, medical certificates, and necessary travel documentation.
- Perform a comprehensive pre-flight inspection before each departure.
- Brief passengers according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operate the aircraft in strict adherence to Humana's SOP Manual and aircraft limitations.
- Ensure compliance with all customs, immigration, and cabotage regulations.
- Complete post-flight duties, including reporting any deviations from the planned itinerary.
- Maintain accurate flight time and aircraft defect logs.
- Immediately notify Humana Representatives, per the Emergency Response Plan, of any accidents resulting in serious injury, death, or substantial damage.
- Report any unsafe conditions or personnel actions to the designated Safety Officer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
General Requirements:
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current and valid US Passport.
- Louisville, Kentucky based position.
FAA Requirements:
- Current First-Class FAA medical certificate.
- Valid Aeronautical Radio Operator Permit.
- Current and valid FAA ATP Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating.
Flight Requirements:
- Preferred experience with jet aircraft equipped with FMS and EFIS.
- Minimum flight time requirements:
- 4000 hours total time.
- 1000 hours PIC, including 500 turbine hours.
- 1000 hours jet aircraft experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Falcon 50 and/or Falcon 2000 Easy type rating.
- Bachelor's degree.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Compensation:
The compensation range reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment. Individual pay will vary based on skills, experience, education, and certifications. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.
