Position Summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Pilot (Captain) to join its dynamic aviation team, based in Stratford, CT. This pivotal role, reporting directly to the Director, Aviation Operations, emphasizes the paramount importance of safety, security, and quality in all flight operations. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient and secure execution of the company's flight assignments, operating a Bombardier CL30 aircraft.

Key Responsibilities

  • Executes comprehensive pre-flight inspections, ensuring all aircraft systems are fully operational and prepared for flight.
  • Operates aircraft with the highest standards of safety and efficiency, strictly adhering to all federal and local aviation regulations, Hubbell’s Flight Operations Manual, and internal company policies.
  • Strategically determines departure times and optimal flight routes, continuously monitoring weather conditions, and making necessary adjustments to flight plans.
  • Conducts all flights in a safe and prudent manner, aligning with stringent industry and company standards.
  • Accurately maintains flight logs, trip paperwork, and all required documentation in accordance with established procedures.
  • Develops and sustains a thorough working knowledge of all authorized aircraft systems, including emergency systems and associated procedures.
  • Performs detailed analysis of area, enroute, and terminal charts for intended landing airports and designated alternates.
  • Actively contributes to a robust safety culture by openly sharing information on safety issues and promptly reporting all safety hazards and concerns.
  • Manages flight scheduling and manifest creation, proficiently utilizing the company’s flight scheduling system.

Qualifications

  • A college degree in Aviation or a related field is preferred.
  • Possession and maintenance of an active Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with a Bombardier CL30 type rating is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum Flight Experience:
    • 5,000 hours Total Fixed Wing
    • 2,500 hours Multi-Engine Land
    • 2,000 hours Pilot-in-Command (PIC)
    • 1,500 hours Turbojet
    • 1,500 hours Turbine time
    • 500 hours Night flight
    • 500 hours Actual or Simulated Instrument
  • A minimum of five (5) years of aviation experience, preferably within a corporate or company environment.
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedules and willingness to travel worldwide extensively.
  • Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, PowerPoint, and Excel is considered a valuable asset.
  • A commitment to continuing education and professional development to remain current with evolving aviation technologies and regulations is essential.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The Captain operates within a dynamic environment encompassing both sophisticated customer areas and heavy maintenance facilities. The role involves exposure to moderate noise levels, with occasional high volume during aircraft arrivals and departures. This position necessitates adaptability to all weather conditions and requires extensive domestic and international travel.

The role requires manual dexterity for handling, feeling, and reaching, along with the ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, or crawling may be necessary. The Captain must be capable of frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds above shoulder height.
