This position requires 200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time to serve as pilot in command in part 121 operations, as stipulated by FAR § 121.436(a)(3). Candidates must provide verifiable proof of this flight time requirement via pilot logbooks, which will be reviewed by the System Chief Pilot and/or the Director of Operations during the interview process. Alternatively, 200 hours as second in command at a part 121 carrier, as per FAR § 121.436(a)(3), is acceptable.
The First Officer performs as Second in Command in the transport of passengers, mail, freight, or for other commercial purposes. The individual is responsible for all aspects of flight conduct, including preflight duties such as reviewing required paperwork and restrictions, ensuring safe flight operations, and completing all post-flight duties.
The First Officer must comply with all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies on scheduled flights and routes to ensure the utmost safety of flight.
