Second in Command Pilot - Commercial Aviation
This position requires a highly skilled and experienced aviation professional to serve as Second in Command (SIC) for a Part 121 air carrier. The SIC plays a crucial role in the safe and efficient transport of passengers, mail, and freight for commercial purposes.
Qualifications:
- Prior Qualifying Time: Candidates must possess a minimum of 200 hours of FAA-approved Prior Qualifying Time to serve as pilot in command in Part 121 operations, as outlined in FAR § 121.436(a)(3). Proof of this flight time will be required during the interview process and verified in pilot logbooks with the System Chief Pilot and/or Director of Operations.
- Experience Options:
- 200 hours as Second in Command at a Part 121 carrier (FAR § 121.436(a)(3))
- 200 hours as pilot in command at a Part 91 carrier operating a multi-engine turbine-powered fixed-wing or powered-lift aircraft, holding an Airline Transport Pilot License and an applicable type rating (FAR § 91.1053(a)(2)(i))
Responsibilities:
- Flight Operations: The SIC actively participates in all aspects of flight operations, ensuring the safety and efficiency of the mission. This includes pre-flight preparation, reviewing paperwork and restrictions, conducting safe flight procedures, and handling post-flight duties.
- Compliance: The SIC is expected to adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAA), Company Flight Procedures, and Company Policies while operating on scheduled flights and routes, prioritizing the highest standards of safety.
- Coordination and Teamwork: The SIC collaborates effectively with crew members and ground personnel to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations. This includes coordinating tasks for flight fueling, loading, passenger handling, and other related duties.
