Overview

The Fixed Wing Pilot is responsible for overseeing airplane operations conducted by the Aviation Department. This role involves supervising and scheduling Airplane Pilots, performing administrative duties, and operating aircraft to transport passengers to domestic and international destinations. The incumbent is responsible for maintenance testing and other assigned aviation missions, reporting directly to the Chief Airplane Pilot or their designee. This is an exempt position.

Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safe conduct of Part 91/135 domestic and international flights with no restrictions, ensuring compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and ICAO regulations.
  • Perform Pilot in Command (PIC) duties and responsibilities.
  • Complete required simulator and aircraft training, pass 135 Check rides, and maintain 135 PIC qualifications.
  • Prepare and review flight plans, ensuring aircraft performance parameters remain within tolerances.
  • Review Flight Risk Assessments and determine appropriate mitigation strategies for each leg.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) by identifying, reporting, and assisting in the mitigation of safety-related issues.
  • Comply with schedules and directives governing aircraft operation and maintenance, collaborating with the Aviation Team.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain flexibility for scheduled and on-call operations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain a composed, professional, and ethical demeanor in high-pressure environments.
  • Support a safety-focused, team-oriented culture while representing the organization with discretion and accountability.

Essential Job Functions

  • Demonstrate commitment to responsible gaming and alcohol service protocols.

  • Notify management or the ethics hotline regarding any illegal acts or internal policy violations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
  • Current First-Class Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum 3,000 hours total fixed-wing time.
  • Minimum 1,500 hours Pilot in Command (PIC) time.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours total jet time.
  • G-280 Type rating and 250 hours on type (preferred).
  • Accident-free history with a clean FAA record and no pending investigations.
  • Must reside within a one-hour drive of FLL or be willing to relocate.
  • Ability to work on an on-call basis with a 2-hour call-out response time.
  • Valid Passport and FCC Radio Telephone Operator’s Permit.
  • Proficiency in basic computer software (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel) and electronic tablets.
  • Ability to read and comprehend required technical manuals.
  • Clearance via background check, pre-employment drug screen, and criminal history record check; participation in the FAA DOT drug and alcohol program is required.

Reporting Structure

The position reports to the Director of Aviation and/or the Chief Pilot regarding operational standards, aircraft maintenance, service standards, and staff scheduling.
