Second-in-Command (SIC) Cargo Pilot - Metro Operations

Job Summary

The SIC Pilot is responsible for assisting the Captain in operating aircraft safely and efficiently, adhering to all regulations and company policies. This position requires a high degree of dependability, adaptability, and a commitment to exceptional customer service and safety. The role involves responding to an on-demand schedule, which may include frequent overnight callouts, weekends, and holidays, necessitating physical stamina and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct professional internal and external aircraft communications.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of freight.
  • Operate aircraft in strict compliance with all applicable regulations, program, and company policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize flight crew member safety and deliver exemplary customer service.
  • Identify and communicate aircraft deficiencies to maintenance for review and correction.
  • Perform flights under day, night, and varied weather conditions.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Commercial Pilot License with multi-engine land and instrument rating.
  • Current Instrument Proficiency Check.
  • English Proficiency (ICAO LEVEL 4).
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Valid FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Radiotelephone Operator Permit.
  • Current Passport (passport cards are not accepted).
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 125 lbs., climb ladders, and maneuver around aircraft.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screening and other required background checks.
  • Ability to obtain an airport SIDA badge.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to an assigned base and travel extensively.
  • Availability to work various shifts, overtime, and respond to after-hour call outs.

Minimum Flight Hour Requirements

  • Total Time (TT): 800 hours
  • Pilot-in-Command (PIC): 250 hours
  • Multi-Engine (ME): 75 hours
  • Turbine: 40 hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Part 135 experience.
  • Familiarity with company aircraft.
  • Previous cargo experience.
  • Possession of an iPad for reporting to duty.
  • Must relocate to the El Paso, Texas base.
