Responsibilities
The Inflight Instructor will be responsible for conducting FAA and DOT-regulated initial, recurrent, and requalification training for Frontier Airlines flight attendants, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Essential Functions
- Oversee initial training for flight attendants, including performance assessment, management, counseling, coaching, administration of progressive counseling, and termination of trainees when necessary.
- Develop, produce, and disseminate annual recurrent computer-based training.
- Provide support to line trainers as required.
- Conduct needs analysis, design, develop, and produce training curriculum and materials to meet FAA requirements and corporate objectives.
- Maintain qualification as a Frontier Airlines Flight Attendant.
- Oversee Inflight contract trainers and facilitators during training periods.
- Assist with writing and revising the Flight Attendant Manual.
- Participate in special projects and committees.
- Provide constructive feedback to management and the flight attendant training team on training participants' personnel-related activities to ensure collaboration on training goals.
- Maintain records of all training activities, participants, and results.
Other Functions
- Collaborate with the department manager to monitor and coordinate all correspondence with the FAA.
- Coordinate the completion of all forms related to flight attendant training.
- Receive and respond to flight attendant phone calls and email inquiries.
- Visit other airlines' training facilities, attend industry conferences, and participate in professional training seminars.
- Plan, schedule, and prepare for flight attendant training, including room setup and cleanup.
- Collaborate with other training departments as needed.
- Provide support to other departmental trainers and their training, and assist the department manager as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior experience in a leadership role required
- One year of experience as a line flight attendant required
- Professional experience in teaching, training, or adult education preferred
- One year of experience in a FAR 121 program required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Current knowledge of the Airbus aircraft
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant Federal Aviation Regulations
- Ability to effectively manage multiple, concurrent projects and priorities
- Demonstrated superior instructional, facilitation, and presentation skills to large groups
- Proven ability in the evaluation, creation, design, and implementation of curriculum and supporting materials
- Knowledge of conducting training needs assessments for different client groups
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
- Computer proficiency in word processing, Excel database software, graphics, desktop publishing, and Powerpoint
- Project management abilities, including production and strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the instructor group
Working Conditions
Equipment
- Airbus aircraft, computers, door trainers, televisions, video equipment, projection equipment, and other Inflight training equipment
Work Environment
- The work environment will vary, including normal office, classroom, outdoor, airport, on aircraft, and other offsite facilities.
- The schedule may include extended work hours (early morning and late night) as dictated by Denver station operations, in accordance with station operational hours and hangar hours.
- The position requires willingness to work on the aircraft as a regular crew member and for IOE training and proficiency checks.
Physical Effort
- The position requires light physical effort, handling objects up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently.
- The position may require moderate physical activity, handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.
Salary
$58,394 - $77,508
