First Officer - Aviation Job Description
About the Role
As the appointed Second in Command, the First Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft during both normal and non-normal situations. Operating under the directives of the Captain or Aircraft Commander, the First Officer provides essential support to maintain the highest standards of safety and efficiency throughout all flight operations.
Key Responsibilities
The First Officer is responsible for:
- Providing continuous input and assistance to the Captain to ensure flights are operated in a safe and efficient manner.
- Serving as a brand ambassador for the airline, especially while on duty, and upholding a high personal standard of discipline, conduct, and appearance.
- Demonstrating responsibility for the duty of care and welfare of both crew and customers.
- Supporting the Commander in overseeing the appropriate fueling, baggage/cargo loading, and necessary servicing of the aircraft.
- Ensuring the proper execution of duties as specified in the instructions and procedures outlined in the relevant airline Operations Manuals.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess:
- A High School Diploma.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
- Required flying hours: 225 hours (for candidates aged 20-34) or 1,000 hours (for candidates aged 35-50).
- Successful completion of the GCAA Air-law exam (applicable to foreign license holders).
- An English Language Proficiency (ELP) level of 4 or above.
- A 1st Class Medical Certificate from ICAO.
- A Commercial Pilot License (CPL)/Instrument Rating (IR) with Multi-Crew Co-operation (MCC) for a Frozen Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL).
- Proof of completion of military service before joining (preferred) or proof of military exemption.

Information Security Responsibilities
The First Officer is required to read and comply with the Company's ISR policies, diligently reporting any weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team. This includes completing all required ISR awareness sessions and adhering to associated guidelines in day-to-day business operations.
