First Officer

Job Summary

A First Officer serves as the crucial Second in Command, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft during all phases of flight. Working under the direct guidance of the Captain or Aircraft Commander, this role demands exceptional dedication to aviation safety, unwavering professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to the welfare of both crew and passengers, while consistently upholding the airline's esteemed values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous collaboration and support to the Captain, ensuring that all flight operations are conducted with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
  • Acts as a dedicated brand ambassador for the airline, especially while on duty, and consistently maintains impeccable personal standards of discipline, professional conduct, and appearance.
  • Demonstrates profound responsibility for the duty of care and welfare of both the flight crew and all customers onboard.
  • Supports the Aircraft Commander in overseeing critical pre-flight preparations, including the appropriate fueling, meticulous baggage/cargo loading, and comprehensive servicing of the aircraft.
  • Ensures the precise and proper execution of all duties specifically detailed in the instructions and procedures laid down within the company's Operations Manuals (e.g., flydubai Operations Manuals).

Qualifications

  • Possession of a High School Diploma.
  • Fluency in both English and Arabic languages.
  • Flight Time Requirements:
    • Minimum of 225 hours flying time (for candidates aged 20-34).
    • Minimum of 1,000 hours flying time (for candidates aged 35-50).
  • Licensing and Examinations:
    • Successful completion of the GCAA Air-law exam (applicable to Foreign License Holders).
    • English Language Proficiency (ELP) Level 4 or above.
    • Valid 1st Class Medical Certificate from ICAO.
    • Commercial Pilot License with Instrument Rating (CPL/IR) and Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) for a Frozen ATPL.
  • Military Service (Preferred):
    • Proof of completion of military service before joining, OR
    • Proof of military exemption.

Information Security Responsibilities (ISR)

  • Reads and rigorously complies with all Information Security (ISR) policies of the Company.
  • Diligently reports any security weaknesses or incidents to the respective Line Manager or the Information Security team.
  • Completes all required ISR awareness sessions and strictly adheres to associated guidelines in all day-to-day business operations.
