Aviation Professional: Second in Command

Role Overview

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the safe operation of the aircraft, serving as the Second in Command under the directive of the Captain or Aircraft Commander. This position requires diligent adherence to protocols during both normal and non-normal flight situations, collaborating effectively with the Captain and, if applicable, the First Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous input and comprehensive assistance to the Captain, ensuring all flights are conducted with the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.
  • Serves as a distinguished brand ambassador for the airline, upholding exemplary personal discipline, conduct, and appearance while on duty.
  • Demonstrates a profound sense of responsibility for the duty of care and overall welfare of both crew members and passengers.
  • Actively supports the Commander in overseeing critical aspects of aircraft preparation, including appropriate fueling, baggage and cargo loading, and essential servicing.
  • Ensures the precise execution of all assigned duties, strictly in accordance with the instructions and procedures detailed within the relevant Operations Manuals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken).
  • Minimum flight time: 225 hours for candidates aged 20-34; 1,000 hours for candidates aged 35-50.
  • Successful completion of the GCAA Air-law exam (required for foreign license holders).
  • English Language Proficiency (ELP) level 4 or above.
  • Proof of completion of military service or exemption is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid 1st Class Medical Certificate from an ICAO-approved authority.
  • CPL/IR with Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) qualification, towards a Frozen ATPL.

Information Security Requirements (ISR)

Candidates are expected to read and strictly comply with the company's ISR policies. This includes diligently reporting any security weaknesses or incidents to the appropriate Line Manager or the Information Security team. All required ISR awareness sessions must be completed, and associated guidelines must be followed in all day-to-day business operations.
