Flight Instructor
FlightSafety International, the world's premier aviation training company, seeks a qualified Flight Instructor. The Flight Instructor delivers exceptional ground and simulator flight instruction, adhering to aviation regulations and FlightSafety Training principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot ground and simulator training for clients enrolled in core, specialty, or enrichment courses.
- Develop and prepare training materials aligned with the curriculum to meet client needs.
- Evaluate trainee progress and recommend individuals for qualification or additional training.
- Maintain accurate training records specific to each client, supporting their success in achieving objectives.
- Identify client training issues and seek assistance proactively.
- Maintain instructor qualifications in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be able and willing to participate in FlightSafety’s DOT Drug and Alcohol testing program.
- Possession of an unrestricted ATP certificate or an ICAO member state Airline Transport Pilot License is required.
- In the absence of an ATP, candidates must meet the requirements of 14 CFR Part 61.153 and 14 CFR Part 61.64 without a Supervised Operating Experience (SOE) limitation.
- A minimum of one unrestricted PIC type rating is essential.
- FAR Part 135, FAR Part 121, or military training experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 2,500 hours of total flight time is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation safety standards and practices.
- Familiarity with common aviation regulations.
- Proven ability to manage classes and teach effectively.
- Possession of first-level facilitation and customer service skills.
- Receptiveness to coaching and feedback to support professional development.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The employee must be able to use hands, arms, and voice effectively. The position may require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting, and smelling.
Specific physical requirements include:
- Ability to reach, exert pressure, and manipulate rudder controls with both feet.
- Ability to reach and manipulate controls within the simulator from the instructor's chair.
- Ability to enter and exit the simulator via a ramp.
- Ability to move between the instructor station, screen, and podium in the classroom.
- Ability to exit a malfunctioning simulator in a severely pitched attitude.
- Specific vision abilities, including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, are required.
- The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds frequently.
The employee will frequently work near moving mechanical parts and may work in high, precarious places or in outside weather conditions. Exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, electrical shock, radiation, and vibration may occur.
