Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 450 (G450)

EJM is seeking a qualified Pilot in Command (PIC) for a Gulfstream 450 (G450) aircraft based in Houston, TX (KCXO). This is a two-pilot operation, supported by a dedicated Maintenance Technician, operating under both Part 91 and 135 regulations. The PIC assumes ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the aircraft. The PIC adheres to all company and regulatory requirements while ensuring an outstanding service experience.
This impeccably maintained aircraft, a valued addition to EJM's Part 135 certificate, is projected to fly approximately 300 hours annually, with around 200 hours dedicated to retail charter operations. Typical destinations include Los Angeles, Miami, Salt Lake City, and international locales such as Nassau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures the safe and compliant operation of all assigned flights.
- Verifies crewing and trip assignments align with company and regulatory standards.
- Completes meticulous flight planning, performance, and weight and balance calculations for each flight.
- Employs the Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) briefing methodology to lead pre-flight briefings and proactively mitigate operational risks.
- Adheres strictly to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains seamless coordination with company personnel. Acts as the designated Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator as per company policy.
- Completes all required pre-flight aircraft checks, including a comprehensive review of maintenance status, to guarantee mission readiness. Accurately records all aircraft discrepancies in compliance with company SOPs.
- Manages all ground servicing procedures (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) in accordance with SOPs.
- Conducts thorough passenger briefings that conform to company policy and regulations, ensuring a superior level of customer service and catering to special passenger needs.
- Utilizes Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles to ensure clear and timely communication with crew and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency situations.
- Proactively enhances the EJM service experience through quality service to owners and passengers, and effectively addresses any service deviations.
- Collaborates with fellow crew members and EJM personnel to deliver a consistent service experience to owners and passengers, and resolves conflict and challenges appropriately.
- Maintains all required regulatory and company training and recency standards.
- Complies with the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) program, reporting any safety or non-compliance concerns via appropriate channels.
Certifications and Licenses:
FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
Experience:
- 4-6 years of relevant aviation experience.
- Prior corporate/business aviation experience is preferred.
- Type-rating on GV/450/550 aircraft is highly advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Minimum Flight Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3,500 hours.
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1,500 hours.
- Pilot in Command (PIC): 2,000 hours.
- PIC Multi-Engine Land (PIC MEL): 500 hours.
- Instrument: 300 hours.
- Jet: 500 hours.
