Pilot in Command - Gulfstream 450 (G450)
Executive Jet Management (EJM), a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot in Command (PIC) to join its team and operate a Gulfstream 450 (G450) aircraft based in Houston, TX (KCXO).

Purpose of Position:
The PIC will hold ultimate responsibility for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the G450 aircraft. This two-pilot account, supported by a Maintenance Technician, will operate under Part 91 and 135 regulations. The PIC will adhere to all company and regulatory requirements, while simultaneously delivering an exceptional service experience for passengers.
This newly acquired aircraft, impeccably maintained and a valuable addition to EJM's Part 135 certificate, is anticipated to fly approximately 300 hours annually, with 200 hours dedicated to retail charter operations. Frequent destinations include Los Angeles, Miami, Salt Lake City, and international locations such as Nassau.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Ensure Safe Flight Operations:
- Guarantee crewing and trip assignments comply with company and regulatory requirements.
- Execute flight planning, performance calculations, and weight and balance tasks for each flight assignment as necessary.
- Lead required briefings using Threats, Plans, and Considerations (TPC) methodology to mitigate operational risks.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and coordinate with company personnel as needed. Act as the Grounds Security and In-Flight Security Coordinator, per company policy.
- Thoroughly complete all pre-flight aircraft inspections, including assessing maintenance status to confirm mission capability. Document any aircraft discrepancies according to company SOPs.
- Monitor and ensure all aircraft ground servicing items (e.g., fueling, oil, oxygen) are completed in accordance with SOPs.
- Conduct passenger briefings following company policy and regulations. Provide the highest level of customer service and cater to any special passenger needs (e.g., physically challenged individuals).
- Utilize Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) techniques to communicate clearly and promptly with crew members and support personnel during normal, abnormal, and emergency operations.
Deliver Exceptional Service Experience:
- Provide superior service to owners and passengers, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the EJM service experience. Regularly investigate and address any service deviations.
- Collaborate with fellow crew members and internal EJM partners to maintain consistent service quality for owners and passengers. Resolve conflicts and challenges in an acceptable manner.
Maintain Proficiency and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and company-mandated training requirements and maintain recency of experience.
- Comply with the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program and report any safety or non-compliance concerns through established channels.
Certifications and Licenses:
- FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)
Years of Experience:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other (KSAOs):
- Prior experience in corporate/business aviation is preferred.
- Preference will be given to individuals with GV/450/550 type ratings.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position is mandatory.
- Minimum Time Requirements:
- Total flight time: 3500 hours
- Multi-Engine Land (MEL): 1500 hours
- Pilot in Command: 2000 hours
- PIC MEL: 500 hours
- Instrument: 300 hours
- Jet: 500 hours
