Purpose of Position

The Pilot is primarily responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience while maintaining a continued safety record on every flight. Serving as the face of NetJets, the Pilot delivers technically accurate and safe transportation alongside an exceptional service experience for every NetJets Owner and passenger.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the Pilot include:

  • Ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take-off, and landing according to FAA guidelines, Original Equipment Manufacture's (OEM) Checklists, NetJets Flight Operations Manual (FOM) or Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), and Standard Operating Practices (SOPs).
  • Greeting Owners/passengers, providing introductions, briefing them on the flight/trip details, verifying the itinerary, providing weather updates and safety briefings, and explaining any itinerary changes.
  • Delivering in-flight service, including handling alcohol and serving catering.
  • Loading and properly stowing all baggage as required.
  • Handling and conducting flights for Owners traveling with pets and those who smoke.
  • Acting as the final authority on the aircraft regarding all aspects of operation, including compliance with applicable safety and regulatory guidance.
  • Serving as a liaison between Owners/passengers and NetJets from arrival at the FBO until safe landing at the final destination and departure from the final FBO.
  • Properly communicating any maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the NetJets Maintenance Control Center (MCC) Controller for their fleet.
  • Completing necessary paperwork associated with maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned depending on specific assignments.

Education

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications and Licenses

Candidates must possess or meet the requirements for the following:

  • Written FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
  • Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit.
  • Valid State driver's license.
  • Valid passport enabling international travel without restrictions.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and travel in and out of the country without restriction.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)

Required qualifications and attributes include:

  • Meeting the requirements for FAA ATP or Restricted ATP (R-ATP) certificate with multi-engine rating per 61.160, including:
    • At least 21 years of age.
    • 1,500 hours total flight time experience (or 1,250 hours with appropriate university R-ATP certificate, or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification or appropriate university R-ATP certificate).
    • 200 hours cross-country (>50 nm) flight time.
    • 250 hours fixed-wing PIC.
    • 100 hours of night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings.
    • 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated in-flight, excludes simulator time).
    • 50 hours fixed-wing, multi-engine time.
  • Completion of the ATP written exam prior to the start of Indoctrination Training.
  • Ability to work varying hours including day and night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrated ability to be extremely flexible and adjust to rapid changes.
  • Ability to manage rest effectively to be prepared for flight duty at all times during a tour.
  • Capability to handle duty periods lasting up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, potentially spanning different time zones and extreme weather conditions within a single trip.
  • Willingness to be away from home for seven or more days and nights while on duty, requiring hotel stays.
  • Ability to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Ability to pass Transportation Security Administration required background screening.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, fluently speaking, and understanding the English language.
  • Being service-oriented with a neat, well-groomed appearance and demonstrating the ability to make a positive impression, including a strong capability to effectively interact with passengers.
  • Possessing excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure.
  • Demonstrating the ability to make quick and accurate decisions while paying close attention to detail, both technically and from a passenger-service perspective.
  • Physical capability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to work around animals, including handling and care prior to, during, and after Owner flights.
  • Ability to conduct flights for Owners who smoke.

Base Salary Range

$86,015 - $117,706
