First Officer Opportunity: Essential Qualifications
Our aviation partner is seeking highly skilled and dedicated professionals to join their dynamic team as a First Officer. This challenging and rewarding role demands exceptional flight proficiency, a steadfast commitment to safety, and strict adherence to all aviation regulations. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of flights, contributing to the airline's operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications for a First Officer
Prospective First Officers must possess a comprehensive set of certifications and flight experience. Essential requirements include:
- A valid FAA Commercial Pilot Certification, complete with multi-engine and instrument ratings, is mandatory.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age.
- Successful completion of the ATP written examination is required prior to the commencement of new hire training.
Total Flight Time Minimums
Applicants are required to meet specific flight hour thresholds, tailored to various educational and military backgrounds:
- 1,500 hours Total Time.
- Alternatively, 1,250 hours Total Time for candidates who have graduated from a qualifying 2-year or 4-year aviation university program with 30 aviation credit hours.
- Or, 1,000 hours Total Time for graduates of a qualifying 2-year or 4-year aviation university program with 60 aviation credit hours.
- For military flight training graduates, a minimum of 750 hours Total Time is required.
Specific Flight Experience Requirements
In addition to total flight time, candidates must demonstrate experience in various flight conditions and roles:
- 50 hours of multi-engine fixed-wing flight time (this requirement may be reduced to 25 hours).
- 200 hours of cross-country flight time.
- 250 hours of fixed-wing Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
- 100 hours of cross-country flight time as PIC.
- 100 hours of night flying.
- 75 hours of instrument time (actual or simulated, with a minimum of 50 hours accrued in airplanes).
- 25 hours of Night Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time.
Additional Essential Qualifications
Beyond flight experience and core certifications, successful applicants must also meet the following critical requirements:
- Hold a current FAA First Class Medical Certificate.
- Maintain current IFR Currency.
- Possess a valid FCC License.
- Demonstrate legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- Exhibit the ability to travel internationally, entering and exiting the U.S. and all destinations served by the airline.
- Be prepared to relocate as required by operational needs.
