Unmanned Aerial Systems Pilot I/II
Entergy Services, LLC seeks an experienced and dedicated Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Pilot I/II to join their team in New Orleans, Louisiana. This onsite position offers the opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring the safety and reliability of Entergy's infrastructure through cutting-edge aerial inspection technology.
Position Summary:
The UAS Pilot I/II will be responsible for all aspects of UAS flight operations, including pre-flight planning, data collection, post-flight analysis, and meticulous record-keeping, adhering to all federal, state, local, and company regulations. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong commitment to safety and a passion for utilizing UAS technology in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct safe and compliant UAS flight operations, serving as Remote Pilot in Command, Visual Observer, or Sensor Operator as needed.
- Skillfully manage, process, and analyze data acquired through UAS and other sensor platforms, ensuring accuracy and quality for reporting and analysis.
- Meticulously execute pre-mission planning, flight notifications, and post-mission reporting in strict accordance with the Unmanned Aerial System Operations Manual (UASOM).
- Proactively maintain operational readiness of all UAS equipment through regular inspections, maintenance, and adherence to established procedures.
- Actively participate in Entergy Aviation's robust Safety Management System, upholding a culture of safety and compliance in all operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders, providing clear and concise reports on UAS inspection findings.
Minimum Qualifications:
UAS Pilot I:
- Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field, and two years of experience in UAS data collection, management, and analysis. (Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
- Two years of demonstrable flight experience as a Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot with a minimum of 100 verifiable hours in Commercial UAS Operations.
UAS Pilot II:
- Associate's Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field, and two years of experience in UAS data collection, management, and analysis. (A minimum of four years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)
- Two to four years of demonstrable flight experience as a Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot with a minimum of 200 verifiable hours in Commercial UAS Operations.
Both positions require:
- Comprehensive knowledge of unmanned aerial systems, operating requirements, and applicable federal regulations.
- Familiarity with photogrammetry, advanced photography, LiDAR, and general remote sensing principles.
- Proficiency in computer office skills, including flight planning software, Microsoft Office Suite, and expense reporting tools.
- Possession of a valid FAA Part 107 License.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Louisiana state-issued Class D Chauffeur's License.
- Ability to meet and maintain medical certification requirements for UAS operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with electrical and gas infrastructure inspections.
- Two years of dedicated experience with LiDAR, remote sensing, and traditional photogrammetry.
