This role requires a candidate to possess an Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence or an Australian Commercial Pilot Licence, complemented by successful completion of all Australian ATPL Theory subjects. International applicants are advised to consult the Civil Aviation Safety Authority website for specific license information. The candidate must demonstrate English Language Proficiency at Level 6 on their license. A current Australian Instrument Rating with endorsements for Instrument Approach 2D and 3D on a multi-engine aeroplane is essential, with New Zealand applicants needing to convert their license and ratings prior to application. A minimum of 700 hours of total aeronautical experience is required. The applicant must have at least 250 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) of a multi-engine aeroplane, excluding ICUS and SIM time; or 250 hours PIC of a single engine turbine aircraft exceeding 3,400kg MTOW, excluding ICUS and SIM time; or 250 hours as a co-pilot in a multi-engine turbine, multi-crew aircraft, excluding ICUS and SIM time. A current CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical Certificate is mandatory. The candidate should be willing and able to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test. Furthermore, the applicant must have the ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), noting that extensive background and security checks are required at the applicant's expense to establish eligibility. Finally, the candidate must hold a current passport with unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call, having at least 12 months of validity remaining.
