Fast-Jet Pilot - Red Air Aggressor

Draken is seeking exceptional fast-jet pilots to join its elite Red Air Aggressor team based at Teesside International Airport. This role offers the opportunity to operate the Aero L-159 "Honey Badger" within a mission-driven organization focused on the future of air combat training.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will demonstrate airborne leadership, operational decision-making, and a commitment to safety and mission delivery. Draken provides a supportive professional environment with relocation support and the "Draken Managed Path" program to assist pilots with the UK CAA licensing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert airborne leadership and operational decision-making.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and mission execution.
  • Demonstrate adaptability within dynamic operational environments.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Valid UK CPL(A) or ATPL(A) (or ICAO-compliant equivalent).
  • UK CAA Class 1 medical (or ICAO-compliant equivalent).
  • Completion of the Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (AUPRT) course.
  • Military fast-jet experience, ideally within the last six years.
  • Ability to hold and maintain UK MOD security clearance (nationality restrictions apply).

Desirable Criteria

  • 1,000+ hours on fast-jet aircraft.
  • Qualified Weapons Instructor or Flying Instructor status.
  • Experience operating radar-equipped, single-seat platforms.
  • Completed Multi-Crew Cooperation (MCC) course.
  • Experience in civil aviation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Operational Knowledge

Candidates must possess a deep understanding of customer mission requirements and significant experience in military or government aviation sectors.
