First Officer (BN2T Islander) – Dynamic Military Contract Operations

Position Overview: First Officer, Northern Ireland Base

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly professional and diligent aviator to join a leading aviation services provider as a First Officer, based at the primary operating base in Northern Ireland. The successful candidate will be integral to supporting critical military flying contracts, primarily utilizing the BN2T Islander aircraft fleet. The role demands an individual who is self-motivated, proactive, and exceptionally flexible to successfully meet the stringent demands of a dynamic military flying schedule and evolving operational requirements.

The First Officer must be capable of working effectively as a key member of a small flight crew team, demonstrating unwavering commitment to safety and adherence to regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities and Operational Duties

The First Officer supports the Captain and Flight Operations management across all operational and administrative tasks. Core responsibilities include:

  • Executing the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft in strict accordance with CAA regulations and detailed company operations manuals.
  • Providing crucial, active support to the Aircraft Captain across all flight phases to ensure optimal flight safety and operational effectiveness.
  • Assisting with comprehensive mission planning, detachment organization, and broader Flight Operations business functions as required.
  • Undertaking occasional, authorized single-pilot transit flying duties.
  • Maintaining readiness to support mandatory worldwide detachments and operational movements across diverse international locations.
  • Executing any other duties reasonably requested by management that fall within the capability and scope of the role.

Essential Qualifications and Experience (Aviation Career Requirements)

Prospective candidates for this specialized First Officer position must possess the following minimum experience and qualifications to be considered:

  • Mandatory eligibility for UK Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
  • Holding or actively progressing toward a valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL(A)).
  • Possession of a Multi Engine Instrument Rating (MEIR).
  • Successful completion of a Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC).
  • Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT), where required by current regulatory standards.
  • A minimum total flight time greater than 200 hours.
