Ensures that trip of assigned flight is conducted in the safest manner possible. The mission of the Discount Tire Aviation Department is to provide safe, reliable, high quality, and cost-effective air transportation services. Must reside in the Greater Phoenix area or be willing to relocate.
Responsibilities

  • Ensures that trip of assigned flight is conducted in the safest manner possible.
  • Determines flight routes, speed, and takeoff and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements.
  • Follows Safety Management System procedures, including but not limited to, observing and reporting any questionable actions, events or circumstances
  • Must stay current with federal and local flight regulations.
  • Communicate information and recommendations to non-flight personnel in an informative manner.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 5,000 hours of flight experience which a minimum of 3,000 flight hours were as Pilot in Command.
  • Possess a satisfactory history of extensive and current World-Wide International Operations.
  • Proven understanding of safety equipment and the proper use.
  • Typed in Falcon 900LX Easy and International Captain is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Must reside in the Greater Phoenix area or be willing to relocate.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • Ability to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history records check and pass drug test.
  • Possess a professional, positive attitude. Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must have well-developed people skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle interruptions and a fast-paced environment. Maintain strong attention to detail. Be self-motivated and able to motivate others.
  • Excellent conflict resolutions skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, delivered with tact and professionalism.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Exercise strong judgment and can identify and adjust to changing conditions with timely and appropriate actions.
  • Be able to balance a fluid schedule.
  • Be able to communicate information and recommendations to non-flight personnel in an informative manner.
  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements.

Educational Requirements:

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Possesses current airline transport certificate with necessary type ratings.
  • Hold an appropriate 1st Class FAA Medical Certificate (within 6 months since latest exam)
  • Hold a valid aeronautical radiotelephone license for International Operations
  • Hold a valid and current passport and holder of a valid Certificate of Alien Registration if required, as well as meet all applicable currency requirements as detailed in FAR 61.57 and FAR 61.58.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required.
