Aviation Pilot Resources Co-op
Overview
The Pilot Resources department is seeking a dedicated Co-op to provide essential support across various functions within Crew Resources. This role offers broad exposure to pilot administration, including managing leaves of absence, retirements, outside flying verification, and new hires. The Co-op position provides valuable educational and professional work experience within the aviation industry, although it does not guarantee a full-time opportunity upon graduation. The successful candidate will commit to a minimum of three alternating rotations, specifically scheduled for Fall 2025, Summer 2026, and Spring 2027. Candidates must be able to work full-time during their assigned rotations and cannot actively take any courses concurrently, which may potentially impact graduation timelines.
Key Responsibilities
The Pilot Resources Co-op performs a range of critical duties, including but not limited to:
- Assisting with pilot rotation and schedule updates, ensuring accuracy in DBMS data and personnel files.
- Conducting analysis and research to support Crew Resources, OE training planning, scheduling strategic initiatives, and ALPA reporting.
- Identifying and determining required training types for pilots returning from leave status or awarded through an Advance Entitlement.
- Providing customer service to pilots, Chief Pilot Offices, Labor Relations, and ALPA by responding to inquiries via email and phone concerning category and staffing information.
- Maintaining the accuracy and facilitating the distribution of pay protection for pilots; verifying the accuracy of pilot assignment files and job codes.
- Managing pilot Vacation Training and Sick (VTS) files and processing all requests to block pilot schedules.
- Contributing to process improvement efforts by identifying manual processes and proposing innovative methods to enhance efficiency across pilot resources and scheduling areas.
- Developing rapid familiarity with key operational documents and systems, including the Pilot Working Agreement (PWA), Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), DBMS, SAP, and OSS.
- Consistently practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for the Aviation Pilot Resources Co-op position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and actively working towards a Bachelor's degree.
- Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Has prior exposure to analytical or reporting software.
- Demonstrates the ability to anticipate and plan for competing priorities while meeting strict deadlines.
- Capable of communicating professionally and discreetly with pilots regarding proprietary, confidential, legal, complex, or sensitive issues.
- Thrives and contributes effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Exhibits a high level of attention to detail, essential for consistently maintaining accurate personnel records affecting pay, job status, and benefits.
- Consistently prioritizes the safety and security of themselves, others, and sensitive personal data.
- Embraces diversity in people, thinking, and styles.
- Holds a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States.
