Delta Air Lines is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage daily HR operations with a concentrated focus on Pilot payroll processing. This critical role demands an in-depth understanding of aviation payroll practices and a dedication to accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily HR operations, focusing on accurate and timely processing of Pilot payroll.
- Collaborate closely with Crew Support to ensure compliance with all payroll practices and procedures.
- Maintain expert knowledge of Flight pay practices for active, inactive, and terminated Pilots and Flight Attendants.
- Partner with IT and Pilot Flight Pay to guarantee seamless transmission, validation, and processing of pay files.
- Proactively identify and resolve payroll discrepancies by running exception reports and managing case tickets.
- Collaborate with the Time and Attendance team to validate Flight hours and ensure timely payroll processing.
- Provide oversight to payroll vendors, ensuring adherence to regulatory changes, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Utilize strong management methodologies, including risk management, cost control, and project planning.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate financial postings and facilitate account reconciliation.
- Partner with vendors to deliver exceptional customer experiences across all channels.
- Provide leadership and subject matter expertise in the implementation of new payroll system functionalities and modifications.
- Manage third-party partners, ensuring data security, data management, and effective issue resolution.
- Maintain up-to-date payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures, proactively advising leadership on legislative changes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience (5-7 years) in a payroll-focused role.
- Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience with SAP payroll or a comparable ERP payroll software.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and MS Access, demonstrating a strong understanding of data and technology.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across divisions and with all business areas.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and implement change effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, handling ambiguity and uncertainty with composure.
