Overview

**Role and Responsibilities****Summary**Perform MQ-9 simulator/training device and/or academic instruction and perform subject matter expert work in support of the assigned project.**Essential Duties and Responsibilities***Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.*- Provide instruction to include briefing, simulator/training device events, debriefing and conducting a critique of the training event to include completing documentation of performance.- Provide academic instruction in the classroom using appropriate lesson plans, approved media and method of teaching, audio visual support or electronic computer based-training equipment/media.- Perform duties as a subject matter expert when/as required- Must occasionally perform ancillary job and contract related tasks to support instructional program, i.e. scheduling, standardization or flight safety tasks.- Perform occasional travel in support of the project- Maintain flexible work schedule**Qualifications and Education Requirements**- Previous experience as an Instructor SO with the appropriate Specialty Code or with equal documentation supporting instructor SO experience in a non-military aircraft.- 500 hours total flying time of which 100 hours are PAI (not including “other” time); or 150 hours PAI (not including “other” time).- Pass and maintain a current FAA Class III physical examination on a yearly basis. This requirement applies to flying instructors only. Academic and simulator only instructors are not required to pass physical examinations.- Complete a Classroom Instructor course (CIC), Principles of Instruction (POI) course, or other DoD Component equivalent, as determined by the TSME within six months of training as an instructor. Completion of the Air Combat Command CIC, MAJCOM equivalent, or AETC POI Course will satisfy the CIC requirement IAW ACCI or AETCI 36-2250. Training is provided by the Government. Attendance fees and/or travel costs, if required, will be at contractor expense.- Meet AFI 11-2MQ-9, Volume 1, Chapter 2, Instructor SO prerequisites prior to certification as an MQ-9 ISO.- ISO candidates who meet the above required qualifications except for MQ-9 experience may be allocated slots in an MQ-9 Initial Qualification Training (IQT) class by the local FTU. Following IQT, candidates shall be provided flight time through normal FTU scheduling practices to acquire the required instructor upgrade requirements. Upon reaching the requisite experience level, candidates shall enter the Instructor Upgrade Course and be fully certified at the successful completion of that training. Training availability may be limited as required to meet other ACC, AETC and ANG requirements. – ISO candidates who meet the above required qualifications except got MQ-9 experience and will not be conducting live fly instruction may be allowed, with local FTU/Wing leadership approval in writing, to accomplish all required training listed in (6) above in the simulator. – ISO candidates who are not qualified to instruct live fly missions will accomplish periodic evaluations IAW AFI 11-202 Vol II in the simulator.- Detail oriented- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Must be able to read, write and speak English as specified in the contract upon which employed.- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Will be required to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints. Must be able to generate effective oral and written presentations and proposals on complex subjects.- Must be able to calculate figures and amounts, prices, commissions, and percentages, and to draw and interpret graphs.- Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable.**Additional qualifications:**- Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or learning institution.- Completed a minimum of three semester hours of Community College of the Air Force CCAF-approved instructor methodology coursework prior to instructing.- Become and remain Subject-matter qualified in the required subject or specialty area.- Complete a Government approved subject matter test annually. (Time between tests will not exceed 365 days)- Successfully complete a 12 semester hours CCAF approved teaching internship.- Be evaluated annually (time between evaluations will not exceed 365 days.- Attend at a minimum one professional development opportunity annually.- Have an electronic faculty folder in the STARS data base to track faculty qualification documentation.**Preferred Skills**- Previous MQ-9 Sensor Operator Instructor- Qualified in an MDS within the previous five years**Security Responsibilities**Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
