Advanced TRACON Air Traffic Control Instructor

Job Summary

SAIC is seeking experienced Advanced (Level 10 or greater) TRACON Air Traffic Control Instructors to join the Controller Training Solutions (CTS) team. This role provides air traffic controller training services for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, OK. The instructor will function as a Casual, TSEW (TRACON Skill Enhancement Workshop), or TETRA (Ten, Eleven, Twelve Radar Assessment) Instructor-III within the Terminal Radar Domain. This position is crucial in supporting the FAA's mission to ensure the safety and professionalism of the flying public through a well-trained Air Traffic Control (ATC) workforce.

Responsibilities

Deliver instructional services for air traffic controller training programs, including Skill Enhancement Workshops and Radar Assessments.

Support the training and development of new and current Air Traffic Control Specialists.

Contribute to ensuring students are successfully trained and prepared to become fully certified air traffic controllers.

Provide training and training-related support services as required for various types and levels of ATC facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Certified Professional Controller (CPC) Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) experience in a FAA civilian TRACON or equivalent civilian facility.
  • Experience must have been at a facility equal to or exceeding an FAA ATC Level-10 facility.
  • Must have previously held the position of CPC ATCS or first-level supervisory ATCS.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • FAA Certified Professional Controller (CPC) certification.

Desired Qualifications

  • OJTI certification and experience.

Additional Information

FERS retirees: Earnings received as an ATC Instructor, ATC Training Instructional Supervisor, or Contractor Site Supervisor working on this program are EXEMPT from the Supplemental Annuity earnings limits for FERS retirees between the ages of 56 and 62.
