Role and Responsibilities
In the context of helping CAE achieve its mission which is to lead at the frontier of digital immersion with high-tech training and operational support solutions to make the world a safer place, the holder of this position will be required to create value for CAE by developing and executing the CAE civil aviation regulatory strategy and action plan for CAE’s activities across the regulatory jurisdictions of EASA and multiple national Civil Aviation Authorities in Europe, the Middle-east region, Africa and CIS countries.
The main scope of the work is regulatory matters pertaining to pilot training & licensing, and the approval of training organizations (flight schools using small airplanes and training centers using simulators). The position holder is expected to inform internal and external stakeholders on strategic regulatory matters and provide regulatory advice to these stakeholders on existing and upcoming regulations. In addition, the position holder is expected to cooperate with these stakeholders, including civil aviation authorities, to properly influence the evolution of regulations relevant to CAE, as well as CAE’s customers and partners.
The focus of the work is expected to be on EASA regulations, with growing involvements with other regulations. Occasionally, the regulatory work may also touch the training and/or licensing of other aviation professionals including aircraft mechanics, cabin crew, flight dispatchers and air traffic controllers.
The holder of this position is expected to interact with many internal and external stakeholders across the assigned regions. Externally, such stakeholders include EASA staff, participants of EASA Rulemaking Tasks, staff of various CAAs, customers / aircraft operators, C AE’s joint venture (JV) partners, regulatory working groups, key associations and organizations, aircraft manufacturers, etc.
