The Opportunity
CAE is actively seeking dedicated and experienced Part-Time CRJ Simulator Instructor Pilots to join its Minneapolis training center. Key Responsibilities
The Part-Time CRJ Simulator Instructor Pilot will be responsible for conducting high-quality flight simulator training, ensuring strict adherence to CAE, aircraft manufacturer, and client Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering thorough and professional pre- and post-flight simulator briefings in accordance with CAE standards.
- Conducting simulator sessions that strictly follow CAE, aircraft manufacturer, or customer Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Providing comprehensive flight training aligned with the CAE 14 CFR Part 142 Manual and/or client-specific training programs.
- Accurately and comprehensively completing crew training records to ensure trainee understanding and seamless transitions between instructors.
- Recommending and implementing remedial training for pilots who do not meet required training progress.
- Meticulously recording simulator usage and discrepancies using established procedures.
- Maintaining continuous instructor proficiency as mandated by regulations and company policies.
- Tracking the validity of instructional qualifications to ensure continuous eligibility to deliver training in accordance with contractual commitments.
- Championing Crew Resource Management (CRM) and Threat and Error Management (TEM) principles throughout all training sessions.
- Monitoring and assisting with administrative programs across all areas of flight training as required.
- Acting as a subject matter expert in the creation of curricula and courseware when requested.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Training Manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must meet the following essential qualifications to be considered for this role:
- Authorization to live and work in the United States.
- Availability for a minimum of eight (8) days per month.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings and late evenings.
- Willingness to participate in CAE's DOT Drug & Alcohol testing program.
- Current, unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) License.
- A mandatory CRJ (CL-65) type rating.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant air carrier operational experience, fulfilling one of the following criteria:
- Pilot in Command (PIC) or Second in Command (SIC) experience in operations conducted under 14 CFR Part 121.
- PIC experience in operations under 14 CFR Part 91 for a multi-engine turbine-powered fixed-wing and powered-lift aircraft requiring an ATP license and applicable type ratings.
- PIC experience in operations under 14 CFR Part 135 for a turbojet airplane requiring an ATP license with appropriate category and class ratings and, if required, an appropriate type rating.
- Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to quality, continuous process improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a strong customer-centric approach, even under challenging circumstances.
- Capacity to concentrate effectively and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability and responsiveness to change.
- Comprehensive working knowledge of FAA Regulations Parts 61, 91, and 121.
- Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Demonstrated proficiency with iPad applications such as ForeFlight, Safari, and multi-application navigation.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
