Senior Pilot
Aviation professionals are invited to join a dynamic team where their expertise contributes to feeding communities. The Senior Pilot will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned flights, adhering to all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies. This role requires a commitment to safety, professionalism, and providing a comfortable experience for all passengers. This full-time position is based in Keene, NH, and requires flexibility to support on-call schedules and overnight travel.
Responsibilities:
- Exercises final authority on all flight-related decisions, including whether to proceed with a flight, with due consideration to weather, aircraft condition, and other hazards.
- Maintains primary responsibility for initiating, continuing, diverting, and terminating flights in strict compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations and the Flight Operations Manual.
- Ensures the professional competence and control of the flight crew and aircraft, prioritizing safety, security, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
- Reports directly to the Chief Pilot for the safe and professional conduct of all assigned flights.
- Conducts thorough pre-flight preparations, including weather checks, NOTAM review, and calculation of fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
- Determines aircraft weight and balance and ensures all flight planning requirements are met.
- Verifies that all crew members possess valid licenses, medical certificates, passports, and visas as needed.
- Completes a thorough pre-flight inspection of the aircraft before each departure.
- Briefs passengers in accordance with specified safety procedures.
- Operates the aircraft in accordance with all operator procedures and aircraft limitations.
- Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and sabotage laws.
- Completes all post-flight duties, including promptly reporting any deviations from the planned itinerary or overnight location.
- Accurately records flight times and any aircraft discrepancies.
- Shares knowledge and provides coaching to the Second-in-Command (SIC).
Qualifications:
- Commercial and ATP ratings are mandatory.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and safety procedures.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills and a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to maintain focus and sit for extended periods.
- Flexibility to support on-call schedules and overnight travel.
- Ten to fifteen years of relevant aviation experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Aviation from a military or certified program.
- Minimum total flight time of 7,500 hours, with at least 1,000 hours in jet aircraft and at least one jet type rating.
Environment:
- Office: Maintained at a comfortable temperature (65F to 75F).
- Hangar: May involve exposure to perishable warehouse conditions (28F to 60F).
