Qualifications & Experience

Hold a current aeroplane type rating with a minimum of 1,500 hours total flying time.

Possess a minimum of 500 hours on a relevant multi-pilot turbo-jet (certified to CS-25 standards or equivalent) or multi-pilot turbo-prop aeroplane (with a maximum certificated take-off mass of not less than 10 tonnes or a certified passenger seating configuration of more than 19 passengers). Up to 100 hours of this experience may be gained in a suitable simulator.

Have flying experience on a relevant aeroplane type within the past 12 months, essential for Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) eligibility.

Hold a UK Part-FCL ATPL(A) or meet all requirements for obtaining a UK Part-FCL ATPL(A). Licence upgrade will occur during the type rating course if applicable. Possession of a UK fATPL(A)/ATPL(A) is mandatory, though the current type rating need not be on the UK licence.

Maintain a UK-issued CAA Class 1 Medical Certificate with at least six months' validity remaining from the date of joining.

Demonstrate spoken and written English proficiency at ICAO Level 6.
Essential Requirements

Possess a valid passport with a minimum of 12 months before its expiry date.

Meet height requirements between 1.57m (5'2") and 1.91m (6'3"). Qualified pilots exceeding 1.91m may apply but will require a functionality check to confirm their ability to meet the requirements of seating positions across the diverse British Airways fleets.

Maintain a good level of physical fitness.

Comply with British Airways' uniform standards; tattoos are permissible if not on the hands, face, or head.

Demonstrate the ability to swim 50 meters, tread water for 3 minutes, assist others in water, and perform self-rescue into a life raft. This includes fitting a lifejacket whilst treading water and pulling one's own body weight into a life raft using the handholds.
