The Opportunity
Bombardier is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Courseware Development Specialist to join its Aerospace Canada team in Dorval, Québec. This critical role involves overseeing the development, maintenance, and regulatory compliance of aviation training courseware for Bombardier's cutting-edge aircraft programs. The Specialist will ensure the highest standards of technical accuracy and instructional effectiveness, contributing directly to the safety and operational excellence of Bombardier's global fleet and training partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee rigorous version control and meticulous release tracking of all pilot courseware documents.
- Ensure continuous technical currency across all Bombardier programs, incorporating the latest aircraft updates and regulatory changes.
- Provide essential Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) technical guidance for the development of training materials and adherence to aviation regulations.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on courseware readiness metrics for new aircraft programs, ensuring timely and effective deployment.
- Manage and support audit activities for Authorized Training Providers (ATPs), as well as internal quality assurance audits.
- Contribute to the creation of comprehensive national reports required for program certification.
- Proactively recommend courseware improvements based on valuable internal insights and external customer feedback.
- Address and resolve training-related customer feedback and action items with a high degree of responsiveness.
- Actively review and contribute to updates of official flight manuals and associated training documentation.
- Represent Bombardier Training Services (BTS) in critical ATP courseware design and development reviews.
- Appraise and effectively communicate all aircraft changes that may impact existing training programs.
- Coordinate and facilitate ATP access to Bombardier facilities for the purpose of courseware development.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in aviation flight, maintenance, or training roles.
- Demonstrated expert understanding of regulatory requirements pertinent to aviation training certification.
- In-depth knowledge of complex aviation maintenance and avionics systems.
- Strong understanding of aircraft systems and pilot flight operations.
- Proven experience in developing both computer-based (CBT) and instructor-led courseware for aviation training.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including MS Office Suite, Adobe FrameMaker, and various PDF editing tools.
- Solid analytical capabilities and strong decision-making skills.
- Advanced technical presentation and communication abilities.
- Operational insight derived from experience within airline or business aviation environments.
- Familiarity with Quality Assurance (QA) and Safety Management Systems (SMS) in an aviation training context.
- An Aircraft Maintenance diploma or equivalent industry experience/certification.
- A Transport Canada AME license or equivalent international certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within an aviation training or technical documentation environment.
