About the Role

The Avionics Installer plays a crucial role within Avmax's Avionics division, reporting directly to the Avionics Manager. This position is responsible for the precise installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of sophisticated avionics systems on a variety of aircraft, ensuring airworthiness and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive maintenance checks and servicing of sophisticated avionics systems, encompassing communications, navigation, autopilot, pitot-static systems, in-flight entertainment, radar, AC & DC power distribution, and aircraft lighting.
  • Execute daily tasks related to avionics installation, meticulous troubleshooting, and precise repair on various customer aircraft, including diligent follow-ups on completed services.
  • Offer expert technical assistance and guidance to pilots as required.
  • Ensure effective inter-departmental communication regarding task completion to facilitate seamless transitions for subsequent trades.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Actively promote and embody Avmax's core values, vision, and mission.
  • Operate and calibrate a diverse range of avionics test equipment, including but not limited to air data test sets, navigation, indication, recording, and autopilot system testers.
  • Accurately document and report all work performed on a routine basis, ensuring comprehensive record-keeping.
  • Sign off on work sheets and work cards, ensuring complete and accurate documentation of all accomplished tasks.
  • Proficiently read and interpret Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) installation drawings and reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess 3-5 years of progressive experience in the aviation avionics field.
  • A Transport Canada Certified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME-E) License is considered a significant asset.
  • Must exhibit strong troubleshooting skills complemented by a high degree of quality workmanship.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to work towards obtaining an Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA).
  • Excellent organizational skills.
